was gona put a bigger carb on my 1.0 mk3 but the valves would still limit it so does any 1 no how much of a differance 1.3 head will make? and hav you tried it?

haven't tried it ..but hardly worth the effort imo

trouble is a decent gain like 10% will be bugger all on such a low output engine

might as well sling a 1300/1400 in it

It's not a bcarb, it's a single point injection unit.

A 1.3 throttle body and airbox will give it a little more for not a lot of effort.

I don't know anyone who's done a 1.3 head on a 1.05 bottom end. If you're going to change that much of the engine, theres no reason not to chuck it all in. A 1.3 SPI out of a Mk3 Polo is that close to being plug and play (you can pretty much leave the engine loom in the car and just swap the ECU), there's no reason not to.

Likewise, you can find a mk3 golf with a 1.4 SPI in and there shouldn't be much that doesn't move across.

I've done this but it was coupled with a lot of other bits so can't really say if it made any odds.
