Brake Upgrades

Featured Replies

Just finished polishing my calipers and was wondering what else people were running on their polo's? Any aftermarket setups? or just the usual G60 route?

Anyways, here's some pics of my calipers mocked up behind a set of azev a's (for sale)

They aren't g60s they are just vw2s with the castin marks removed.you wouldn't fit g60 calipers or discs under your 13 inch wheels :retard:

i have vw 1 calipers with solid discs and standard pads and there very good ! nattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!

I'm running vw11 calipers and vented disks yet to find out how they perform as i haven't had the car on the road since august but ill be testing them in a few days

lol what you can't see on top of the carling is a 24 pack of super strength and a 24 pack of stella... shame I was too busy polishing to drink it all! haha.

I got the calipers off a mate for a reasonable price, still need to sort out some brackets and hoses (awkward as they're imperial sized!)

Disk wise i'm using 280mm G60 disks, again got them new off a mate for a decent price.

Pads i'll be using "smart" pads from rally design, they're about £40 a set.

I'd say i'll be able to do the full setup for under £300.

thats what i meant, dont know why i said g60s :)

i have upgraded to G60's on my G40 - my wheels wont let me fit 4pots. got 280mm discs and just normal pads and it wants to rip your face off as it is without grooves etc etc

I've uprated all the hoses to braided items aswell front and rear.

the rears are 239mm golf rear discs - again using new braided hoses and new pipes all round. the brake bias is dealt with using a wilwood bias adjuster as the standard bias adjuster could make my arse spin round if iv not got the car at the correct height
