1983 Mk1 Golf 1.1

Model:

Spec/Trim option: 1.1 Formel E, 4 door in blue

Year of manfacture: 1983

Mileage: roughly 65k (i can't confirm this though as the clocks could have been changed before I got it.

Price: £400

Location: Milton Keynes

Description:

For sale is my 1983 1.1 Formel E. I bought this as a project a couple of years ago, but never round to finishing it. Now I'm moving and need to free up the space on the drive :(

Currently it doesn't run, but I think it just needs the ignition replaced (leads, sparks, coil etc). It did run when I first got it, but I replaced the carb at the same time I did the filler neck because it was running quite lumpy.

It's got 14" le castellets on, two of them have decent tread, but you may want to do all 4 tyres.

The bodywork is pretty much solid, and a lot better than most I've seen. As I said before, some rust in the spare wheel well, and a spot near one of the rear seatbelt anchorages, but this has been treated and is still solid.

List of things I think it will need to be complete:

1. Ignition parts to get it running again (engine turns over fine)

2. Front pads (I have these), and discs. Rear drums will need sorting.

3. Tyres

4. Carpet (its mouldy)

5. repair small crack in windscreen

I don't have a v5 for it, as I was told by the previous owner that it was cat c (needed new n/s/f hub), therefore it will need to be MOT'd and I would assume it would need a VIC too.

As for the price, I'm not really sure what it's worth to be honest, but looking at others I have suggested offers around 400.
