well yes, you ran the risk like everyone else.

There cutting down on illegal plates.

Everyone running them on here will tell you a story of how theyve been stopped.

platemyride and get some legal ones. Why you would though cos there a cheap and nasty gimmick now!

i have, the cops wouldn't let me change them ether and they wonder why no one respects them.

they should be pulling the c**t's that have there fogs on all the time as there not necessary, blind everyone and look gay

course there not going to let you change them. You've been running them and breaking the law for god knows how long before they pulled you!

yer people using foglights when not needed grinds my gears aswell.

they should be clamping down on people with no insurance etc not people running pressed plates, yer its illegal, but in my eyes which is more dangerous.

it's not about which is more dangerous... police are out for an easy catch.

if your willing to break that law, there wanting to know if your breaking any others by having drugs in the car, drank any alcohol, 4 bald tyres etc etc. In most cases a regular stop for a "tatty" looking car for example ends up going much further when they do look into the drivers insurance /find out he's on a provisional license and what not.

It might sound like i'm siding with the coppers. But there doing there job.

yer but they should be focusing on the people that a really braking the law.

cuz no 1 on here would be happy if i none insured driver crashed in to them, leaves the person with insurance a fuck load of money down the drain and a car that there gona have to pay to fix, and the person that dident have insurance slap on the rist and a £60 fine

as if the dicks . i was thinking to my self yday at carlsile when in car park i was suprised they aint said out about them yet . youd of thought they would of gave you a warning as they not exsactly fake plates or anything like that the reg still comes back to a leagul driver . but hey they cant do propa jobs .

You should just man up and bite the pillow. You were caught doing something you knows illegal, you knew you were running the risk of a £60 fine. End of the day you dont want to get fined, dont do blatantly illegal shit.

either that or rapidly order some off dubmeister and dispute the fine, claim you were legal the whole time.

this topic should be called "ANNOYED... got pulled last night for doing something illegal!"

loads of people have been done for running illegal plates and have spit there dummy out on here with look at me topics, time and time again.

all i can say i bet you feel stupid for losing £60 for something that makes your car look no better.

Was that your polo at Workington yesterday aswell dan ? You get about don't you! Lol

Yea totally agree! - I hate it when people moan when they get stopped by the popo and then say on forums " but they should be focusing on the people that are really braking the law"

So in otherwords - let everyone away with anything as long as its not a serious offence? nah! thats not how it works unfortunately.

I'm not trying to sound like some stuck up idiot... (believe me, I've had my fair share of run ins with cops!) At the end of the day, Its all about speed cameras and ANPR systems which only recognise standard UK font and spacing....it makes sense to stop people who are running dogey plates as they, in theory, could evade speeding tickets and ANPR traps!

apparently, this isn't true as they use the same camera's in germany and it works fine. it may be that we have the "Stupid" version which only picks up UK spacing but i doubt it.

I've got legal UK plates on but are replacements... they are spaced differently but still comply with the laws...

i think the spacing on sample reg: AB12 CDE between 2 and C has to be double the gap of B to 1 (if that makes sense)...

I saw a TT yesterday with pressed german plates with the - instead of a space... i.e AB12-CDE it was advertising an independant VW place in leeds (car was seen in sheffield)

Well i got my info from road wars  so who knows!

Man up and take the £60 fine. Count yourself lucky you didn't get any points on your license.

Dunno...

Traffic cops tell me that a mobile van gives 10% + 4MPH in south yorkshire and i've recorded it off the telly in case a copper gives me greif about doing 34 in a 30!

You moan that cops aren't pulling over real criminals and going for easy pull... you're the one giving them that opportunity.. They would be out catching people with no insurance if they weren't pulling people for illegal number plates, illegal tints, talking on a mobile etc....

Why push your luck? Why not just stick to 30? that extra 4mph isn't going to benefit you in any real way is it?

I really don't understand the mentality of some road users these days..

Yer mate that was me

so you allowed to do 37 in a 30.. i doubt it mate.

I know lots of people who have been done for less.

Go look at an impound full of uninsured cars.

Dident post this for sympathy, posted just to see if other people had been stoped 4 this and weva they got warned or fined.
