they should be clamping down on people with no insurance etc not people running pressed plates, yer its illegal, but in my eyes which is more dangerous.

are you trying to suggest that they are only pulling people running dodgy plates? do you think that if they saw some one drive passed and it flagged up as un-insured they wouldn't pull him because he has legal plates?

if they see some one breaking the law they will pull them, whether it be for no insurance, illegal plates or drink driving. it's not about which one is more dangerous or them making "easy catches" you knew the risks, you accepted the risks, now take your punishment like a man and stop trying to pass the blame onto the police

If it's a mobile speed camera, YES.

Also... an extra 4MPH sounds like a small amount but if i set off from the same point, going to the same destination at the same time on the same road, me doing 34, you doing 30... i'd arrive before you.

Also, i've done 50 in a 30, behind a cop car that was doing the same speed with no flashing lights of any sort, therefore, i can't get done for speeding as i was doing the same speed as the law and the copper would also get done for speeding.

i got stopped 3 years ago for pressed plates at 8am in the morning, had the origanal ones in the boot, and as soon as he said the plates were illegal i swapped them over in front of his eyes and told him i didnt know they were illegal, STILL gave the £60.

Taking illegal plates off cars is a good thing, here's an example for you.

Your car gets pinched, then used in an armed robbery.

Police ANPR camera's can't read your illegal plates (that's why they're illegal)

Therefore the criminals don't get flagged up as they pass the ANPR checkpoints on our roads, meaning they can go about for longer committing more crimes.

End of the day, you knew they were illegal, if you didn't, you should've done your homework properly.

99% of the time a 30mph speed limit is in place for a reason. Doing 34 will get you to your destination about slightly quicker but not by much. Say you were doing a 30 mile journey on a 30mph road and you did 34mph. You would only arrive 7 minutes before the dude doing 30mph behind you. Is it really worth it? I'd rather take an extra 7 minutes than risk 3 silly points or even worse kill a child.

And just because the copper was doing 50 in a 30 doesn't mean it was right and you can still get done for speeding aswell as the copper getting done.

if your willing to break that law, there wanting to know if your breaking any others by having drugs in the car, drank any alcohol, 4 bald tyres etc etc. In most cases a regular stop for a "tatty" looking car for example ends up going much further when they do look into the drivers insurance /find out he's on a provisional license and what not.

I got pulled for my plates, he looked over the car thoroughly and told me how nice it was Then let me off for the plates anyway, in fairness though the traffic cops around here are really lenient and generally sound as long as your not a cock
