I've been on this forum for over 3 years now, and there are some great people here and in general I still love this forum and club.

In recent times people, such as yourself, have been complaining about members on here and their reactions to threads like this one, and others such as "anyone know where I can buy WD40? Answers please, but no jokes else I'll throw a hissy fit and call the club shit".

In my opinion it's people like you (and I'm not targeting you only, it's just the post I've quoted made me post this) that have a generally poor attitude.

The job of the police is primarily to stop crime, so when they see someone with illegal number plates, they fine them. The law couldn't be more clear on the matter, if you want the police to catch these real criminals, why do people still choose to break what they consider as lesser laws? Why not just run legal plates and not cause any hassle whatsoever?

To be honest mate you're right, there are more cocks than decent people on here nowadays.. It used to be full of decent down-to-earth people, now it's filling up with people that think they shouldn't be pulled for running illegal plates just because people are mugging others or doing driveby shootings or whatever.. The law is the law, break it and face the consequences even if it's for the pettiest of offences.

like i also said i come on here for advice and to also help people where i can not sit bikering over something stuped its my personal opinion on the matter its not me whos been pulled I'm leagul rather keep it that way to tbh . but way some people speek to eaother on here is unreal . you can make a point with out been a cock about it if you know what i mean . its the way things are said wich then make people like me just say things how it is there no need atol in all these comments tbh . as craggzy has alredi said he was posting to see if any once been done for it befor and what happend . he wasent posting it for people to say man up and stuff he dident once say anything about been botherd about paying it or anything . thats what i mean by people been arses on here . every one on here has a vw or most . and are here for same reson you or i am . so why bikker like children who is better then who its how it seems not jenrul chat about cars like the site is for also to sho events . any way like said not here to bikker or w.e just here for advise and to help . :-D :-D :-D

i got stopped 3 years ago for pressed plates at 8am in the morning, had the origanal ones in the boot, and as soon as he said the plates were illegal i swapped them over in front of his eyes and told him i didnt know they were illegal, STILL gave the £60.

could have been worse, could have been 8am in the evening!

A lesson learned i think...

I got stopped for pressed plates, but this was about 3 years ago when they still looked "kinda cool". Didn't get anything for it though, was just told to change them.

Now I run pressed metal U.K. font plates. None of this "legal" Dubmeister bullshit. Just cheap ones. End of the day, you can argue that the Dubmeister ones are legal if you got pulled over, but if a pig wants to do you because they are metal then he will do so, no matter what you say or try and prove.

I've ran these "illegal" pressed U.K. font plates for almost 2 years now and I've not had a single problem and I've been pulled over 3 times since. Not for the plates, but for other stuff.

I know the risks involved, and so does everyone else.

As for catching "real criminals" this comment pisses me off, but I do admit I did say it a couple of times when I was new to driving etc a few years back.

Illegal plates often lead to a greater crime, such as speeding through cameras and bilking where your plate may not be readable to the cameras. This is why you get pulled over for having illegal plates.
