Ok I've looked through the online MOT manual and cant find anything about this so hopefully I'm gunna be ok! I would appreciate anyone who knows for definate to put my mind at ease though!

Basically i have a glx front bumper on my 6n which is itted with fogs. However, i haven't had a chance to wire them up yet. The rear is wired and works fine (including the warning light on the dash), my question is this though, if front fogs are fitted, do they have to be working?

If they do have to be working i will take them out completely so i would appreciate an answer asap!!

Nah not too big. Just means another job to do in the morning before i take it in! Got a few other things to do too so any i can skip would be better! :)

Nah, front fogs arnt part of the test. Somthing to do with them beign an optional extra.

Technically, being really anal, I think they can fail them. However, if you blacked them out it wouldn't be testable. Take a roll of gaffa/insulation tape with you and ask them before they put it in.

Can my car fail its MOT because the front foglights do not work?

I will get round to replacing them , but I am having an MOT very soon. Will I have to diconnect them or remove them altogether or can they stay as they are?

If the fog lights are factory or even aftermarket, you will NOT fail the MOT if they dont work. They are NOT an MOT requirement. But the rear red one is.

As long as the normal road lights work on dip and main beam you will be ok.
