Newly Home Refurbished D90's

Featured Replies

me and my dad spent a few hours yesterday and today doing these...

when i got them they were as standard porsche d90... the guy had 205's on the 6j and 225 on the 8j.. chunky old tyres..

so after removing them all i set to work on nitromorseing them babies... bad decision

they ended up looking like shite due to the fact that the guys at porsche circa 20yrs ago sprayed a layer of paint and primer about 6mm thick...

got the sander out and tried to get down to metal.. left them looking like this.....

my dad came to the rescue and we spent a few hours sanding and then priming the wheels and they look like this...

finally today we sprayed them with some satin black hammerite.... they are a little bit wet in the video but i had to leave the workshop...

ill take some more pics once i get the tyres on and then when they are on my gti :)

let me know what u think 8-)

cheers

keep an eye out bro.. I've paid barely anything for these so far... managed to get the wheels for 230quid but they had 4 tyres which were new so i sold them for 150quid meaning the wheels actually only cost me 80quid....

the paint i got on ebay for £15 and primer was £6 and the adapters I've had made by an engineer for £100....

all together including tyres they will cost me about 380quid

those could have easily been polished dude! and it takes more than 1 coat of paint stripper to take the paint off!

you could have just worked through the grades of paper to about 1000 and hit it with some polish then it would have came up alright :)

still looking good though! been tempted by some d90s myself so will keep an eye on this
