Here's my first car and as you can tell it needs alot of work, and having a car when you're 18 isn't the cheapest thing, but will hopefully get there.

Future plans for the car include lowering on coilovers or springs (which ever's easiest), possible interior styling and new steels which i'm busy spraying as i post this and will post photos up when i'm done.

Any comments and sugestions welcome.

looks like a tidy car mate but i must ask, do you not miss the boot space? and whats the insurance like?

looks tidy mate! i would try and take the speakers out of the box and intergrate them into a boot build, would look good! as for lowering mate i would go with coilovers, more expensive but overall just a better choice, because you can keep changing them as you wish, what wheels you thinking of man ??

Yehh back seats normally sort it out tho :) and insurance was 2000! fully comp name driver which for some reason was cheaper than tft \: and for some reason is ridiculous for a 1.0

I have the same problem, 6n2 1.0 is £3000 3rd party as me as the main driver silly money!

2 years........ one year on provisional but my first year on a full license was £967 on a mk2 1.3

Not good at all compared to what else is available.

I wouldn't even bother with a twin sub in a car the size of a Polo, unless you have some insane component setup so you can hear the rest of the music and not just bass.

my mirrors shake from the bass and i have three working standard speakers through the standard gamma cd/tape player and thats it

Its been a while but got a few things to update :)

steels have been sprayed for about a month now and need a bit of a clean and still waiting for some tyres :(

managed to get hold of some mrk2 centre caps

boots also been de-wipered

one of my headlight bulbs blew the other day so thought i'd get some bright white/blue ones, recon side lights will follow soon aswell.

managed to get my hands on a gti grill as well

Its been a while but got a few updates. Cars finally been dropped and managed to fit some cup holders, one of the trays is from a lupo so the end face cap required a certain amount of bodging, so on the look out for an offical one atm. planning on getting the wheels glossed aswell and hopefully have some better pictures up as well, but until then enjoy.

I'm 16 atm and i did a quote on a 1L for when I'm 17 and got around 3500 with my mum on the policy and 4500 on a 1.4 16v

at 18 my insurance on a 1.4 8v with no claims and 3 points is 1250

don't get how insurance works out sometimes. my mate whos 18 is fully comp with 1 years no claims on a 1.6 saxo vts for 1300 a year, and i tried getting a quote for a 1.4 golf with 1 years no claims and got 2600 :S

car looks alright mayte keep it up, and yeah insurance is a scam i had a g40 at 17 and i was paying 2300 with 3 points but a 6n 1.4 8v was 2450 i dont get it :/ lol

saxo's are funny to insure as the 1.4 furio is more expensive to insure than the 1.6 vtr. how did they work this out?...that was a year ago though. golfs are generally more expensive
