As title really. Have a steering damper to fit, but I'm sure I have the wrong parts. If someone could show mr a pic, I could see if I had the right bits.

I'll try and get a picture. But it just seems like my steering cage doesnt have enough holes The whole of the steering and suspension isn't anywhere near the car ATM!

If the rack didn't have the damper originally it'll not have enough holes iirc, as Ben noticed this and robbed the brackets off the GT for his.

I have the special bracket that holds the steering rack to the bulkhead, which I know is specific. It's the other end that's the problem. Apparently thy can be used with a standard mk3 cage, but I can't see how. I have an mk2, so I guess that may be then problem

And is that the way it points too, the thin end under the steering column end? I'm sure I don't have that 3rd hole, which is a bitch

this may sound stupid.. but why would you want to dampen the steering? is that not just reducing the feel of it? and thus the control of the vehicle?

Its not damped enough to stop you feeling the steering, but just takes out some of the minor wobble you get, like when you go over wee bumps etc. The front seems quite light on steering, and I'm hoping this will just sort things on steering response

I'v heard that all mk3s do, and in my ignorance, I assumed the mk2 would too. However, it's a v.old mk2, so I'm going to check to see if things changed on the later ones

my G plate had the correct steering arm knuckle with the 3rd bolt hole, the B plate didnt.

simple swap though

My 1.3's got the bolt hole, fitted damper no probs

It would seem the later ones had the additional hole, since my g plate has one, but the old x doesn't. Anyone got one for sale?
