my facebook status: hasn't long got off the phone to an insurance company who can insure me for a grand less than my current and i'm allowed any moification as long as i keep it under 80 bhp :D

that was with brenacre, i'm currently paying over 2.5 k for a 1.4cl, that was before i knew my old insurers were willing to provide a letter of proof of no claims from a classic policy. it comes to 1600 quid odd

the only requirements they have is you must be 19 or older and have at least a years no claims

standard my 1.3 saloon is 516 to insure lowered its 886 with brentacre

I'm 19 with 2 NCB driving a 16v 6n with many mods lowered, stainless etc. All mods declared fully comp £1300.

20. 2 NCB 6 points driving a 1.4cl with alloys and lowered declared. £746.

brentacre sounds like a really good shout, i'm with lv atm and they won't even insure me if i get different sized wheels or touch the suspension :(

do you have to pay off in one large amount with brentacre or can you pay monthly?

you can pay monthly but there is a hefty deposit required

might need words with them then :) 19, 2 years ncb etc, hopefully be able to get a half decent deal

paying monthly they wanted a 397 quid deposit

I know this i a long shot but dose any one think i will get in sure with brentacre with a 1.3 polo ryder bready with wheels suspension and exhaust for my first car

declared springs to aviva and was charged 30 quid more, same with alloys

my policy started as 538 2yncb... now 60 quid more

get the aviva deal

yeah but its my first car

If you're 19 with atleast 1 years NCB I think you can go with brentacre..if you have 0 NCB or haven't been driving for over a year I don't think you can mate

now i'm reaping the reward

i'd try aviva, my missus' mum was an insurance broker for 23yrs and said NU was alwyas best for modded cars

that doesnt sound right bcos brentacre are a sub group of lv i would imagine by the letters i got from brentacre

21, polo 1.0l 60bhp limit, coilies and wheels 660

Try Admiral, Adrian Flux and Aviva...also add both your parents to your policy as named drivers...this usually reduces the cost of the insurance..

If you do an Admiral 10 month bonus accelerator, this should also bring your insurance down :-)

has anyone transferred the ncb earned on a 10 month policy to a different company upon renewal?

iv gone with the 10 month policy thing, and i said can i use them somewhere else when it comes to renewing - they said yes, but they'll still probably say they didnt say i could etc, has anyone actaully done this?

costs me an extra 25 quid per mod with admiral.

suspension needs to be declared as less than 50mm lowering though.

can't really prove otherwise on adjustable coilies anyway, and anyway i doubt they'd get the tape measure out.

Yee that's what i thought haha, and you could always raise it if they did measure it xD

I pay an extra £30 for lowerage with Elephant tits..

when i first got the mk3 on the road last summer it was 200 quid a year to insure with wheels and lowering, this was with HIC. That was with no ncb because i was using them on my jetta

Yes I did this mate after writing a car off and losing my no claims a few years back, wanted ncb nice and quick so did the 10month deal and when it came to renewal time I went with a different company and they just sent me through the certificate for 1years ncb...so it's all good!
