Cheaper to insure a GT than a 1.05

I'm 19 with a years no claims and the renewal on my 1.05 Polo mk3 is more expensive than the 1.3 GT version

Getting quoted 2200 for the 1 litre and 1600 for the GT.

Anyone else noticed this? and why would this be?

Possibly the age of the car? Only thing I can think of to be honest. I've found the smaller the car, the more the cost goes up, especially known 'boy-racer' cars. Thankfully they mostly don't see Polo's as boy racer cars :)
