Hi people, My girlfriends been sold these wheels as "Genuine audi wheels" to put on her Audi A3 but I'm not convinved...

I cant work out what audi these wheels have ever been manufactured for or if they were even an option on any audi past or present,

I might be wrong so feel free to tell me so, i just cant work it out for myself, any ideas what audi these were on from new??

I work for audi, i don't recognise them. Look for a genuine partnumber. if they're multifit it's a dead give away they're not gen wheels.

yea I'm not convinced either, i'll have a look when she comes round, i know its tricky to say considering the amount of wheels audi make but is there a number thats consistent with all audi wheels? they're 5x112 which would suggest its an audi wheel but I'm still not sure

5x112 means they'll fit an audi, but doesnt mean they were made by audi

Splits? They look nice to be fair,even though they're totally not my style. Id get a centre cap off and have a look for markings. Also on the back of the spokes,anywhere. There must be some somewhere?

I thought the same too. They just look a bit too chavvy to be factory fit Audi wheels.

there replicas. audi dont sell a centre cap thats not flat faced. and if you pop that bolt cover off you will see a jil print code but no audi symbol. sorry mate but there replicas.

one other quick give away is if there direct fit on the hub or need spigots. if spigots then theres there is no chance of them being real.

Problem solved... they're not audi wheels as i suspected but they're ronal according to the branding printed on the inside of each wheel so I'm pleased there a good quality brand.

There not my first choice of wheel either to be honest, i tried persuading her to go for rs4's but she wanted these more, I've told her there not genuine and shes still happy.

I was convinced from the start that audi would never make wheels this "chavvy" but thought id get a few opinions from you guys, they dont look bad now they're on the car actually, as long as shes happy so am i :-D

Well, they did release the A2 a few years back which had no taste whatsoever.

The fact they have Ronal stamped on them isn't really a definite sign though. Ronal make plenty of VW/Audi factory fitted wheels (and have been doing since at least the 80s and probably further back), the Seat Arosa wheels I have are made by Ronal and have Ronal stamped on them as well as the Seat logo.

My mates standard six spoke wheels on his new shaped beetle are ronals aswell or 'row-nals' as he calls them...

what do you call them? I pronounce it "row-nals" too.

Ron-als, how old are you? He got that from his dad... And he was the first person I've heard to call them that too
