its because the majority on here are young and have cheap first cars e.g. an old polo and a 9n costss considerably more, and for the same money as a 9n you could probably get a quick golf so people rarely own 9n's on here and vw fans rarely own them for a number of reasons. Explanation over.

Its just not that popular. They didnt really do a performance one. So from the enthusast point of view its not considered that desirable.

Theres a couple of nice modded ones, but for the money people have chose other motors!

closest youll get to a performance one is TDI sport gttdi thingy majig

styling wise, just go for the OEM votex kit

i don't really see the point in modding a 9n, may awell get a cheapo 6n and mod the hell out of it rather than having a lightly modded 9n

I'd have a 9N GT over a valver, actually I'd probably have one over a 6N2 GTI.

OK so it's not a pretty car, but it's a Fabia vRS underneath. So piss easy to tune. Reckon you'd easily annoy proper Polo GTI owners with one. Plus you'd be paying less to tax and fuel it. Fuck yeah, I'd have one. Characterful little thing!

And as for lasting longer, I can guarantee that rock solid oil burner and galvanised body will put any pre 94 to shame. It's a taxi engine in a tough modern shell.
