People on here seem to think that the MK4 is the car sent from God.

All these bullshit comments, "I'd rather have a heavily modded MK4 than a lightly modded MK6" even though he hasn't mentioned his budget or funds at all. How do you know he doesn't have the funds to 'heavily modify' his MK6.

At the end of the day, the MK6 is superior in every way in comparison to a MK4 apart from maybe the odd looks.

I would rather modify a MK6 than a MK4 though, because most MK4's look identical. MK6's are really overlooked, and look killer with a MK7 front end (Chris Scragg's purple one for example).

Oh and yes, your right. It's not a very good forum at all. Even worse for the MK6 onwards so I'd have a look at edition because there are a fair few more 9N's on there. They might also be on this forum, but hidden away amongst all the MK4 and MK3 talk.

hahaha this is great who mentioned loving mk4's? because i didn't, in order i'd rather have a mk3 coupe, then mk1, then mk2 coupe, then mk5, then mk3 breadvan, then mk2 breadvan and then finally a mk4. I just beleive a 9n isn't worth modifying but a mk4 is as they are cheap and there are so many of them.

and why stick up for someone who blatently called this forum bad because we don't mod 9n's?

I wasn't aware it was an issue.

I'm just defending it based on its merits, rather than dissing it because it's ugly. IMHO the Mk4 Polo isn't a good looking car either, especially that gash dashboard. But they do look good when they're modified. As did Chris Scragg's car, even before he changed the front end to a Mk7 one.

I can see why people don't rate the Mk6, but there are some proper blinkers on things being said here.

No, it's not the prettiest Polo. But then neither is a Mk2 bready (sorry) and they're popular.

No, there's no performance version. But there's no 'hot' Mk1, the Coupe S Mk2 only has 55bhp, we never got a Mk4 GTI (and the 16V is only a warm hatch) and the Mk6 GT is more powerful than a Mk5 GTI. With the added bonus that it's a tried and tested engine for tuning.

Put it this way, I could live with the looks if it went like stink.

9n's are nice if done nicely. Main reason why there isn't alot on here is because the majority of users on here are young (including myself) and a 9n is quite pricey let alone modding them. It's not because there shit or whatever it's just because not alot of dubbed 9n's on here. However I'm sure you can find a forum that is devoted to them.

Exactly least it would be more of a challenge, than seeing all the same cookie cutter mk4s on this site.

Welling I would have a 9n gt tdi any day! There amazing little things! Economic and nippy! I own a mk4 and love it it's full on back to basics fun driving (I have poverty spec with a few added luxuries by myself) Inthink it would be a piece of piss to make either of them look good! There's alot more modern style wheels for the 9n just gotta find it's spec and then use your bogging! And as for rippin 9n 6n owners etc we could all do that! Not pathetic tbh! What does it matter I could afford a "better" car than my but I quite like the 6n but the teo arent comparable imho! Completely different creation!
