Bacically got some few days ago of ebay but theres no wiring or switch, I contacted the seller when i got them but they scraped the car bout a week ago so thats a bummer.

I can get hold of a switch quite easy, i think.. but what wiring do i need?

i have no idea and i was gonna fit them later as its not raining but it would be a little bit pointless.

what year is your car though?

as pepes guide is for earlier models, but mine is newer and was different.

Well mines a 98 cl spec.

I literally just had to change the switch, then make a little loom to go to the headlight plug behind grill and connect up :) I just used 16v fogs as 16v bumper but it's all the same.

Basically the plug behind the grill has all the wires to it, then the side which goes off to the headlights there's 2 pins empty which you need to put a + & - to each fog light.

If you don't have plugs for the fogs you can use indicator plugs, & make sure you get a fog switch for the later 6n as it's different cause of headlamp levelling etc x

I rubbish with wiring, all these colours confuse me, nice to learn though :)

somewhere like maplins or rs components would probably stock them, but i dont know the exact spec etc, maybe someone else could help you with that,

id also strongly recommend using the rubber seals which go around the wire into the plug too (also keeps it OEM)

i only used them colours as it was what vw would use, basically they need to be wried parallel so they get the full 12v and if one bulb blows the other fog works,

so you just need 2 wires long enough to go from the plug to the left fog, and same for the right, then they just need to be joined at the pin into the multiplug behind the grill, i think i put a pic up of which spare holes the pins go into.

I couldn't find/ be bothered butchering a scrape car to get the conectors, so I rustled up a relayed harness and justcut the wires off from inside (behind radiator) and used bullet conectors and went straight to the relay. The power feed is fused and goes straight to the battery. An improvement ove the original setup and actually gives the fog lights a useful output. If your interested I can make a harness up that would plug and play, or even help you make your own. If your interested of course!
