Fitting a momo airbag boss to polo 6n

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have just got myself a momo wheel and I brought an airbag boss off somebody second hand (some parts maybe missing)

Basically, as far as I'm aware the airbag bosses have mounting points for the airbag detonator unit (which mine does) and then should have some sort of resistor to put out the airbag light?

So heres the bits I have,

I know how all the horn etc goes and wiring that isnt an issue,

but I just want to know how to wire the resistor? (if i even have one?!) as all it looks like is a 2amp micro fuse...

Unless this simply connects so the car believes the airbag is installed, and then if the detonator fires it just blows the fuse as apposed to something else?

I did a quick search and found Indy asking the same thing but there wasnt really a proper answer to it.

If I am missing parts, can you turn the airbag light off with vagcom even if there is no airbag installed? Or would it just be a recurrant fault id be clearing, therefore pointless trying to clear?

Any help would be appreciated, and the sooner the better as I'm excited for fitting :p

thanks

Help please :)

I took my wheel off etc yday & cant see an earth point for the horn, does the wheel just get this from the column? And also do I just plug the resistor/fuse into the two pin conector for the airbag?

Thanks
