4x100 to 4x108 adapters? HELP

Featured Replies

I have recently picked up a bargain at a scrapyard about 30 minutes from my home.

I payed £100 for 4 TSW 15" Alloy Wheels and a spare wheel with 5 x 195/45/15 tyres,

all with atleast 5mm tread left.

Yes, they were filthy, scuffed, but no rust. So i sanded them down with P550 wet n dry,

after the biggest clean they've even seen, primed them, sprayed the drums black,

and gave the wheel the nicest coat of Silver-04 paint. TRANSFORMATION!!

Only to find they don't fit..

They're PCD is 108mm and my '98 Polo is 4x100

I could sell them and make a decent profit. Got the material to do it..

Or get an adapter (best option)

Where/How much do these adapters cost?

saw some on ebay the other day for decent price

Venom Motorsport are selling are selling a pair of 4x100 to 4x108 adaptors for £133, could try ebay as well might find some cheaper ones.

I'm sure there were some for sale on Edition38 the other day but as that is down at the moment there's little chance of checking.

HaHa noob

Your other problem is gonna be offset - the wheel wont be inline with the bearings, causing the wheel to be at risk of hitting the arch, wearing the bearings out and the car tramlining.

Ford and Peugeot-Citroen use 108 and have low offset, which is why they look like they've got banded steels when not wearing trims.

Add the width of an adaptor and you're rocking poke (scenester wannabe term for wheels sticking out the arch).

Knowledge is power. Id sell at a profit, then buy 4x100 with the correct offset. And remember that offset is relative to the width of the wheel,so you're looking at like et35 for a 6in rim and et25 for a 7in rim.

I wouldnt spend more on adaptors than i would on wheels........

Ford aren't low offset, Peugeot are though. Still gonna be pushing it to fit some adapters in.

Uncalled for.

OP you should sell them, I know you put the effort into refurbing them but it'll cost you more in adaptors than you paid for the wheels. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice :smirk: i think I'm going to sell them back, even thought they are stern at staying at the £100 mark, or exchange them as they offered. Went today but there were no wheels that had my PCD. i took a tape-measure this time to make sure i didnt make the same mistake twice. the et is et25 on these wheels so yeah the adapters would make it look like a dragster. good look?... but illegal.
