£324 later and it's MOT'd!

money well spent imo! what was up with the brakes in the end?

Needed new master cylinder, brake pipe and hose from what I can recall. Definitely money well spent to be honest. Spread out over a year it's like £27 a month, pretty cheap for peace of mind motoring.

Not done too much over the last couple of months apart from fitting my duostyling AFRM and getting it dirty to and from work. All being well i'll be fitting a standard exhaust today or tomorrow as i've sold the full system that's on it currently.

I'll be chucking on my stainless 4 branch, G40 centre pipe and G40 backbox. With new gasket and rubbers from VW. I've a straight through centre pipe but it's had the flexi cut off by the previous owner so awaiting a length of stainless steel to weld/clamp in where the flexi was. G-laderseite ARB blocks may go on too.

Soon i'll be replacing the suspension, just need to find suitable front shockers first.

How much did the afrm cost and how does it work? Wouldn't mind using one to set up my weber.

It's narrowband - just connects to the Lambda - ECU cable. Not that accurate but looks good. paid £15 a few years back.

New exhaust system fitted - stainless 4 branch, G40 centre pipe and g40 stock backbox. All sealed nicely too. Scrapes at the flexi and centre silencer so will either trim the 4 branch as the outlet points down and extend the centre pipe or fit a straight through centre section AND extend the centre pipe so the manifold can be shortened so it eradicates the angle it points down at.

It slipped off the stock hangers last monday which was annoying. Busted out the cable ties in busy Bristol rush-hour traffic. So much stronger than the rubber O rings!

Few weeks on and nothing major to report, it's now wearing headlamp protectors though!

I'm going camping for 5 nights down in Devon in a couple of weeks so i'm either raising the rear suspension at the weekend or fitting brand new weitec dampers and weitec springs to lift her a tad. Also utilising the roof rails and hopefully fitting a roofbox too. I'll be stripping out the rear seats, subwoofer and anything else that'll let me convert into a camping car/van for a week.

A few months on and me and the Polo are soldiering on just fine! She was effortless on a camping trip to Devon as stated above. Freecycle roofbars allowed me to use my Dads roofbox for the trip as well as removing he rear seats and seatbelt units. Had a shed load of space and very little scrapes whatsoever when we were fully loaded.

Car is 6 months overdue a clean and polish, I use it to commute in so really not too fussed to be honest, the amount of people at the Polo Show that said 'could have washed it' made me lol, i've got better things to be spending my time on!

New mods/tat include wind deflectors courtesy of Andy/Dubstyle (Polo6n1600i) and a Votex Grille fitted last night, not too sure if I like it, the reflectors will be getting repainted and will see if I prefer it then when it's looking fresh.

I have a set of barely used 60/40 H&R cup kit springs which i'd like to get fitted soon, just finding the time is difficult, and the use of my mate George!

It got 87.2bhp (I think) on the Rolling Road at the Polo show. Got a few engine modifications up my sleeve too...

That 87bhp at the fly wheel or wheels?

Fly...

I bought a Vortex grill ages ago and just had it sitting about.

Not too convinced on them.

Just bought mine for the G40 as they 'shouldn't' fit a G40 but mine does due to my intercooler setup.

Fogs you can get on eBay.de easily enough and people even give away roofbars on here from time to time.

Thing is though, do you have it in you to drill 4 holes in your roof?

Fair point, bank transfers to germany are around £30 too!

I want to make the car look as pimp as I can however using it everyday gets to me a bit if i'm honest! I want to take it off the road for a few months and spend some time/money on her.

To be fair it would be more engine related, target is the RR day!

Beautifull car.

The Hella and Votex Grill´s are very common in the uk?

Thing is though, do you have it in you to drill 4 holes in your roof?

4 holes.... Fucking pussy :ninja::lol:

Your a puzzled boy pacmon.

I was saying that, because id rather be drilling 4 small holes, than what I'm about to be embarking on

just buy a faster polo. make me sad seing my old car all dirty, being a daily driver is no excuse! used to use it every day when i had it, but it always got a wash once a week. wish i had sold my g40 and kept this instead!

Jon, you make me laugh mate! I want to keep this as much as you did :)

Took a few pics yesterday before I left Devon after a nice weekend away with the Girlfriend.

Yes, it needs a wash. First and foremost the tracking will be reset along with G-Laderseite blocks along with toyo proxies upfront and a new bracket for the backbox.
