8v 1300 inlet manifold blanks, for bike carbs

Featured Replies

ok. so i've had them cut, the fit is a perfect copy of the gasket shape, in 8mm mild steel, 2mm thicker than the one's on ebay,

i will be selling them for £15 each plus postage.

they are top quality and make the whole mission of making your own manifold much easier...

i will also be able to get one's for the small block round port engines aea, aee etc but these will be to order. also these blanks can be cut any thickness, stainless, aluminium or mild steel dependant on preference...

take about a week for me to get hold of.

anyone down in cornwall can come pic one up if they around fal area..

pics...

Word. Any way you could get one done in stainless? If so very interested. If you can, an get you a price, I'll pay you a % commission for the favour

yea, i can get one made up in stainless.. But first i wanna get my first one back to check its a bang on fit.. They reckon 4 working days... so when its back i should be able to give a price, and material options.. I should be able to get them in any material, aluminium, stainless, and mild steel, dependant on your preferences.. Also at whatever thickness you would like..

Cheers.dan.

ha. Well i looked.. Couldn't find anything. I would say that if mine is accurate enough it will probably about the same price.. However i will be able to offer a choice of material.. Also, notice he dosen't cut out for the sparkplugs as on the manifold gasket.. no pressure on sales for me.. Just really wanted my own.. And thought others might be interested.. Cheers.

Wicked mate, that's awesome. Desperate to get one done for a reasonable price.

What engine have you taken the gasket from? Mines an aea (1.6), so not sure whether the port sizes are the same. Could you possibly measure yours to see if they are the same?

the ports on the gasket i'm using as a template are... 36/ 29mm if yours are different i would need to get a gasket to copy.. but then you would need to pay me for autocad time... is yours a big block or small block engine?

36 for the inlet, 29 for outlet?

Pay for autocad time? Blimey, running a hard bargain arent you? only joking. Thats half the problem though, I gave my gasket to an engineering company who were going to do me a plate, but I nevr got the gasket back (or plate actually). So its gone for good

When you get yours back, can you post a picture too, I would like to see the quality. Oh, and its a short block engine

well, if i have to do a fresh drawing to get one to fit your engine, then its work... the ports i'm matching are oval on the gt head, so are 36mm high/29wide... it sounds like yours will is a different engine or port design so i would need to draw fresh... however.. if you want to get your own done. get a gasket, copy the shape into autocad and send it to a laser cutting company, ... bingo...

can you send me a picture of the inlet side of your head? if the bolt holes are the same, and its just the ports that are different then its not to hard to change...

cheers.

so... i have had a look around on here, it seems both the bolt holes and port shape are different sadly...so it would mean a fresh drawing i'm afraid...

get a copy of autocad freestyle,, its fairly easy to use,, have a go at drawing one up yourself... then you have the satisfaction of having solved your own problem... for cheap!... its why i'm doing it...

cheers.

That's a shame mate. I don't really have the time for computers tbh, and My laptops but really up to having complex drawing software installed. It's ballsed enough as it is. Hmmmm, will have to have a think. Thanks a lot any how. Btw, what sort of company is it your going to?

  • Author

i've done the cad drawing... then i send that to a lasercutting specialist...

i would be prepared to sort one for you... it is just a time issue... and i'd need a gasket to copy.

Rhys the other issue, the engineers didn't give it me back, or a manifold

  • Author

so. I can get a gasket for about 7quid.. Plus about an hr for drawing.. Then the time of getting the blank and sending it.. So i reckon 20 quid for my time and the gasket.plus the cost of the blank in stainless..and post.. So probably about 40 all in...maybe a little less dependant on the cost of the blank. if you fancy it shout me and i will sort it..

Cheers.dan.

If you can do it fo 40, that's awesome. Do I get the gasket too?

  • Author

yea. It makes sense for me to get it then send it on.. Saves on postage.. Should i get started?

Yes mate. That would be great. Top man for sorting this out

i am on it... i have some 35mm internal diameter 3mm wall stainless tube left also if you wanted some of that .. do you know what carbs you are using? if they are 36mm this stuff can be ported out...

i also have some 42mm id radiator hose for joining the carbs onto the manifold... i could probably do you a kit.. of all the parts needed...or even get it welded by a chap i get to do my stainless work.. but would need the carbs in my hand for the final work...

i'll get the blank done and keep you posted...

Aw, thanks for the offer chief, but I got a mate gagging to make one up for me! He's a stainless pipe welder by trade, so can get tube cheap/free. As well as free labour. Think I'm going to mount them with the proper mounting rubbers too.

Offer is much appreciated though chief
