I just got insured with them two weeks ago.

They gave me something called a named driver no claims bonus because I've been a named driver for the past 3 years, and this is my first year on my own policy.

Now they want me to prove it to them that I have 3 years no claims which is proving difficult to do because you don't get a certificate if your a named driver!

Indy,

I had a similar thing, they simply asked for my previous policy number and who the insurer was, and simply called them up and asked how long I'd been on a policy for without any claims. Apparantaly the previous insurer cannot refuse the information

I had the same palll, mainly they dont go for the DD and they say youve not paid, just phone them up and give them some abuse, as soon as they pick up just scream motherfucker down he phone, only way they seem to listen.

i am but payed a year up front

a quick question can you frezze your insurance with admerail as my cars bin fucked for ages and I'm wasting my insurance reli

??????

I'm with admiral and I must say they have been extremely good to me. Cheapest quote by far, they are counting my last years no claims as a named driver with another company and they are always very nice and helpful when you ring. Can't wait for feb 27th and I'll have 2 years NCB! :)

I just got a very good quote with them.

I've got a 6n2 Gti, I'm 18 with 3 points for speeding with 1 years NCB and the policy is for 10 months but at the end I get a hole years NCB :D

I'm doing that 10 months thing too, good with the years NCB eh?

Its Brilliant :) and I can do it again next year...

So for 20 months I can get 2 years NCB, I dont understand why they do it but its a good idea.

Yeah same lol

However when mine runs out in November, I should be 19 with 2 years NCB so I'm gonna try and go with brentacre to allow more mods ha :p

I'm with elephant who are basically admiral,

my insurance is due up in march, but i did a few quotes last night,

and i was expecting it to go up, even after another yr no claims etc but is £350 cheaper lol?

Haha, Admiral were over £700 cheaper than the rest of the companies for me..they also allowed me to mod my car!

I'm with Admiral too, was the best quote by a long way and I've had no problems with them so far, apart from occasional calls asking me if I want various extras.

I'm probably going to check with them about modding soon, good to know they're fine with it :)

well cosmetics dont seem to bad, although i rang to enquire about an induction kit the other day and they wanted £27 extra a month hahaha

I've declared alloys and coilovers, which pushed it up about £100 i think? not too sure :/ lol

anyone?????????

can admirial frezze my insurance

Edited by 01mlacey

I've just given Admiral a call to ask about modifications, I was told that they don't insure suspension lowered by between 5cm and 12cm, and if I were to fit alloy wheels and lower the car by < 5cm I'd have to pay an additional £30.

can admirial frezze my insurance?

I don't know, and by the lack of responses I guess others don't either, best bet is give them a call or (if you don't want to lose the will to live and make you really dislike classical music) send them an email. I tried sending them an email first but that was fairly hopeless, instead of giving me a quote they put the car registration in the place where the price was meant to be, and it wasn't even the correct registration... :?

Insurance companies won't freeze or do anything to your insurance without letting you know because they give you a chance to pay the extra amount/outstanding balance before taking any action.

Usually they let you know by email so check the account you used when you purchased it.

i asked why they dont insure lower than 50mm and they said ''dont know really, must be because of damage on speedbumps etc''

Lol, the guy on mine said "you must not lower it below 50mm...though we're not gonna check..but still..." and then laughed lol

Ring them, there's no point asking me lol.

But I wouldn't think you could freeze it because you could make the same policy last years if you just said your car wasn't working.

you should be able to pause/freeze insurance, but you are best ringing your insurance company directly and asking, there is no point in hearsay from your local man down the pub, or randomer on the net

so how is admiral with mods then? i need to phone up and declare coilovers?

They only allow 50mm lowered on coilies...however they're not gonna check so just be like "oh that was lucky..mine is 50mm.." lol
