Well I did the tba. Exited it all, unpluged the cable.....

Its still hunting from 1800 to 2200

try winding the ignition timing back at the dizzy, you'll need a 5mm allen key, slacken it off with the engine running and turn the body of the diistributor anti-clockwise and see what happens

Well I had a bit of a result. After changing the vac pipe and the short vac pipe on the egr valve it was still hunting. So I put the old throttle body on and guess what... its ticking over smoothly at 1100.

So I wonder how long it will be before it starts creating a fuss again.

I'm thinking that mabey I need the tb with the correct suffix at the end.

perhaps the problem was the vacuum leak in the first place. There may be nothing wrong with the old throttle body. A steady warmup idle at 1100 sounds about right, dropping to 900rpm once engine temperature is reached.

The revs don't drop to 900 when operating temperature is reached, I feel the throttle body may still be at fault as I cannot perform a tba on the old tb. But for the time being its working alot better than it was before.

So untill it breaks again, I will leave it alone.
