any way it's last mot ran out in September 1996 and it's been parked in a garage ever since, needs two new sills and some light accident damage to the front sorting out, but other than that it's solid and pretty clean. we found out pretty quickly that 15 year old fuel doesn't burn, although i was reintroduced to an old friend, the sweet sweet smell of 4 star, the smell of a miss spent youth

plans are to fill those arches with some sweet 15's then slam it on it's arse

i was looking for some old skool cool and not vw (just fancied a change) i found this for sale locally and i had my polo up for sale at the time (this was a couple of months back), lad came and looked around the polo and told me he would be back on the wednesday to buy it. so i agree to pick the chevette up on the thursday... lad never comes and i phone up the bloke with the chevette to let him know i've been messed about and he tells me he has another man from up north wants it, so i told him to let him have it as i didn't know when i would be in a position to buy it. i was gutted but what can you do?

fast forward to Tuesday this week, as far as i was aware this was long gone and i'd moved on and was concentrating on the mk2 polo, then out of the blue i get a phone call off chevette man who had mixed up my number with this other chap, apparently he was all set to come and fetch it when the bad snow hit and he had to call it off but said he would be down once it had cleared. i asked if it was sold to this chap and he says it's first come first served, luckily i had sold my hydraulics the night before so had a bit of cash to burn so told him i'd come and get it as soon as i could.

guess it was all down to fate in the end.
