I'm new to Club Polo so just thought I'd say hi and introduce myself!

My name's Sarah, I'm from Plymouth and I've recently bought a Mk2 Breadvan as a cheap little run around & so my other cars don't get muddy doing the horses!

She's looking a bit sorry for herself at the mo, but the (on a budget) plans for her are:

MoT

New grill (anyone got one?!)

Re-spray white

Lowered (i've heard lowering these is a bit of a pain in the arse??)

Banded steelies

And what is everyone's thoughts on no bumpers?

Hi, lowering these is a dodle competent person could do it in an hour and thats with stopping for a cuppa, my last coupe was de-bumpered and i thought it looked great not sure what it would look like on a bready.

De-bumper - yes! Love the look of it.

Ahhhh glad people like the idea of debumpered, I like it too but have been slated!

Thanks for the Mini love guys, it's been one hell of a (5 year) project, but sadly going to be for sale in a few months =(

And for the Golf compliments, no golf debumperment, maybe some more smoothing though...

It's yeeeears old, a guy called Adam first built it in Wembury with a 1300 engine & webbers, then sold it & someone robbed it & stuck a 1L in it. Then another friend of mine bought it, then crashed it and Adam's brother (Joel) bought it as scrap, put a 1.6 skoda engine in it with bike carbs and won fastest VW at Smeatharpe (it's brutal). I think it's been sold on 3 or 4 times since then, but it's still local.

I loooove how it looks with the round head lights & spot lights.

<3 the mini, i had a volcano orange cooper lookalike as my first motor (well the first was a cinquecento but we dont talk about that)

did you ever get over to the retro mini show? there's a girl who bought one of my polos, she helps organise the show and shes got a pink mini with flames on it.

Oh right cool :) I live down in Plymstock so only up the road haha, normally go around that way anyway heh

I'm driving a flash red 6n with clear indicators and debadged grille...will be low soon too

Saw you parked up in morrisons today in the Golf! (Sunday)

I work in there on the checkouts, customer wasn't pleased as I ignored him as you got into the car, knew I had recognised it heh

I saw a Beemer come off the roundabout by fairway furniture (on billacombe road) sideways not too long ago, i was about to come onto the roundabout in my blue Mk3, don't suppose that was you by any chance? cos it was a lad and his missus in the car

I remember when Joel was on here,i gave him a little assistance with fitting the 1.6 (but didn't need to give him much info - he just rolled his sleeves and got stuck in) its great to see how it turned out.

I dont usually go for bumperless but somehow it works - as with everything in life,its all about how you carry it off. And the bumper clearly is useless anyway.. Still,that'll polish out - budum tish!

Always loved old skool minis - had a Wood and Picket one myself,not quite a Margrave MK1 S, like, just a stock '71 850 shell with overriders/5x10 minilites and WP interior with a 1380 and Webasto roof. Was giving me alot of problems at a time i didn't need them. Swapped it in '93 for an '89 Austin Metro..
