well, had this a fer months after buying it off dubmax on here,

in general its super solid, recently rebuilt engine, weber dtml etc.. minimal rust issues.

it was lowered 80mm on jamex kit, the tracking was so far out it was off the scale at my tire venue, and crashed over every pothole i got near.

as i've got it down here in cornwall and it is really a bit more of a country lane rally weapon i i'm rebuilding it to my own spec.

things I've done since owning it.

kw 40mm kit, with an extra turn and a half cut out of the springs. [rides really well, not too hard, actually a pleasure to drive fast on nasty road surfaces}

vw 11 conversion, with ebc grooved disks and green stuff pads

gt cam. yes. me like!

custom fabricated catch tank, my own build..

TRACKING!!!!

a nice matt finished set of le castelettes with goodyear f1 tyres, sticky! quality in the wet..

g-ladersiete arb blocks... yes!

various other small components replaced, keeping it tidy..

now i have proper brakes, i feel i can safely make it go faster, and with this in mind i'm in the process of building a manifold to fit a set of gsxr 600 carbs.

these have been entirely stripped and cleaned, and i have just sorted a custom accelerator wheel to give me normal travel on the pedal.

so the next few days should see me set up with a manifold blank and a few hrs with my welder will see me bike carbed up.

i'm building my own airbox, and all the other parts i need to complete the setup.

in the long run the next things to do will be braces at front and back, maybe fab up some kind of subframe a la ppp,

and a standard g40 exhaust...

thats about it for the mo, on the outside it is standard as it is inside,, it will be staying that way. but will be losing the fog lights as they seem pretty pointless

awesome carb set up

so..

a few updates,

had a chance to do a car mission today and managed to get my carbs airboxed up... also finished the throttle linkage, i've made all the fixings for the cable the same as the weber i', using now so i can change it back easily.. also cos i like a well set up oem+ style solution..

a few thing i forgot to list on my last set of changes.

4 branch, really feel a differenge in the mid range over the standard mani

and an electric fuel pump and fuel king pressure regulator.

airbox back, drawn up on autocad then laser cut, along with the outer cover to take the filter

bending up and fitting the front section of the airbox

making the filter, cut from ramair foam, contact adhesived together

finished accelerator linkage

when i fit the carbs i will be running vacuum advance through this little glass filter i've fitted to the fuel pump drive cover, seemed like a good place to fit it.

all the parts i've made are in either aluminium or stainless steel. so no rust or paint will be going anywhere near them....

and thats about it for now, just waiting on my manifold blank from the cutters then i can build my mani and get these beautys on there. whoop...

a few more updates, finished the fuel pump and regulator mount, got it all fitted ready for the final push to carb land this weekend! whoop..

well, after a 3 day saga, i finally have the beast running on bike carbs.. built the manifold on thursday night, got it and the carbs on on friday, and ironed out issues and rejetted today.. ended up drilling out jets to 180 and it runs like a dream, need to get them balanced next then exhaust and rolling road for fine tuning..

used a colour tune to check mixture, and checked the plugs after a good drive so am happy i'm not running lean.

job done. to say i'm happy is an extreme understatement, cant stop smiling.

also super pleased with how tidy it all looks under the bonnet, the carbs look like they are meant to be there...

ha, went to a duchy dubs meet in truro earlier, then we all blatted off to the beach for a bit of sun, had a mk golf gti following me at one point. his words 'fucking hell, that thing shifts.. i couldn't keep up!' thats made my day, i reckon it will be better still with exhaust and rolling road tune up...
