Finally got the car back today, taking it back from the garage and chucked a tenner in to last for the rest of the day and I've only been without it for two weeks. I remember getting alteast 8 Litres for a tenner and was welcomed by this:

It's bad times when the price gauge goes up faster than the litres gauge :x

Think diesel is around 1.34 a litre & petrol around 1.28 last time I check that's in Stockport btw. Wouldent recommend filing your car up anywhere near the motorways btw guys proper daft prices !!!

I remember when i got 10.01 litres for a fiver. I was 17. But then,my car insurance was £500 on a 9yo 1.3 Escort,and a studio flat in the area was £16,000 so whatever.

I earned 8k a year,i was probably better off then, relatively, than i am now. I should think most people were.

OKAAAY!

123.9 :-(

Thats pretty good tbh, I only got 128.9 because i drove past a few 'ethnic' garages at 130...

cheapest near me is a tesco (esso) @ 124.9 and 0.5mi up the same, straight road, there's a murco garage @ 130.9 - and people use it?!

dam those ethnics, they come over here taking our jobs, raping our girls and inflating our fuel costs

Back when the petrol was that cheap I'd have just been a kid, but I still remember my dad and that complaining as it went over 69.9p per litre.

It was around the time my dad was coming out of the RAF and got a job on civi street. He bought his first house then a three bedroom terraced house for...£33,000 which was at most 3 times his yearly wage.

Just thirteen years later they come to sell the house, I was 19 at the time in a job paying £19,000...and I couldn't afford to buy the house off my parents even after being told I could get a 100% mortgage worth upto 5.5times my annual wage.

The cost of living is so silly in this country now, I struggle to think how some people survive!

OKAAAY!
