just get over it. there not going to burn out quickly. you bought i new car I'm sure you can save up for a few years to buy some bulbs.

i bought expensive osram bulbs for my headlights and because of the DRL's the bulb on the right headlight is burned up. I cant find the same osram bulbs to replace that burned out bulb so I buy a whole new set.

I have a 2011 6R 1.2 Polo Moda which runs dipped main beams,at 100% intensity, rear position lights and number plate light by default when the engine runs.

I've owned the car for three weeks and have had three drivers pull out on me, believing I am giving way to them because they see full headlights in broad daylight. This seems to occur when they just glance your way.

I am not against DRLs but they should be LEDS that that just mark the car in daylight, NOT full headlights - the EU directive does not require headlights.

I don't doubt that the dipped main beam could be deactivated by Vagcom. The trouble is that VW main dealers either can't or won't do it.My dealer rang VW head office who confirmed that they had been inundated with simaler requests. At the moment they are not moving, but they have asked for feedback from the dealers and I hope for a retro fix or kit sometime in the future.

There is a deactivation fix mentioned in my handbook, a procedure with the lighting stalk. As previously stated by others,it does not work and relates to earlier versions.

Anyway, nice car otherwise, my first VW.

It can be done at home with VAGCOM, I wouldn't ask the dealers as they most probably wouldn't do it as they might get a bollocking from the people that made the law change (light companies...)

Mostly though the DRL's are dimmed main beam lights only, and not the side lights but some polos seam to have different setups from vw?
