my mum knows i like my car and just leaves me to it so long as I'm happy with it she is but she wont get in it

Dad is for ever saying

'It rides awful!' and 'should you be spending all this time/money on your race car'

and TBF hes right in both regards!

My dad drives a Prius, health'n'safety freak these days, I'm not too fussed what he thinks of my car. My mum likes little cars, especially basic ones, she'd probably like it if she thought it was slow.

Neither have ever been passengers in it.

^ ^ ^ MikeyMK do you have a build thread of your Coupe s ?

Mine have gave up on me.

Not really because its evolved to how it is,was never 'a build' as such. Got a summary though,of how it came to be,in the MK2 gallery thread.

The old man hasn't always been boring - in 1986 he was driving his one year old MG Maestro in anger to fires etc with a magnetic blue beacon on the roof. Guess he saw one too many car crashes during his time in the fire service.

mum loves being a passenger in it, dad loves driving it and says it sounds better than the scooby next door which is a nice thing to hear. They both request i dont go too fast in it to which i reply "cant too low"

These threads are brilliant. Had a little chuckle in work at some of your parent's comments!

My mother likes to take the piss and doesn't get why I've gone to the trouble to take the badges off and respray them.

Dad saw my car for first time last night (only had this one 2 weeks) and loves it. Very impressed with how it looks/runs.

My older bro compares it to a go kart, says it's very fun to drive being so low compared to his Lexus.

My mum dont get a say really, she used to moan when i had to go work early cos it wakes everyone up lol

And my dad dont really say anything just asks me whats gone wrong with it everytime i see him

my dad likes it but hates paying for atleast 1 repair a month, loves driving it. both my brothers think I'm a idiot for buying it, look like a idiot in it, drive like a idiot in it (its a 1 litre) even though one drives a corsa and the other a fiat 500 . they complain its to loud and low. my brothers mates all think its a pile of dog shit lol. however my old cokehead driving instructor loved it when he last seen me in a petrol station :-)

None of my family like my car, its okay for them to buy shitheaps but mine is better then theirs and they be hatin'

My Step Dad - 'I get Whiplash when I'm in the car its so bumpy'

He had an operation a few months back for something and a week later the Pain killers he was on made him have some kind of reaction and his stomach went all hard with pains and he couldnt move etc.

My mum rang the ambulance and they said 1Hour - she rang me (I was at my GF) and I went flying home, picked him up and took him there but there is Speedbumps the whole way there along one straight road so the car & him were bouncy around everywhere haha - he didnt like that one bit.

"is it legal to be that low?"

"why dont you get something newer?"

"you student loan is for student stuff not wasting it on that shed!"

"you want to go on track? in THAT?"

just a few hahaha

fits right in with all the E30's in my house considering my polo is just a poor mans tourer ;)

They think its a cool car though

Dad says nothing, Mum loves it.

Main Neighbours hate it (but they hate everyone) and it would be impossible to bring the tone of the street down any further, theres a matt black T25, oxide primer Vw Caddy, loud as 6n2 & 6n, 2 BMW E30's, 1 race ready saab 9000 and various big power bikes.

Going to work at 6am, is a noisy affair. the 2 guys at the end of the street would push there bikes down to our end and start them, I would be starting my polo, then you would hear the T25 and Caddy starting too. sounds like race day at the strip some mornings.

My gran doesnt seem to have an opinion just wishes i would stop buying cars. My grandad moans because its not english (lol)

My brother loves it, my other halfs dad wonders why its so low (i secretly thinks he thinks its silly)

dad if you carry on moding it you can get your own insurce

mom its stupid low the seats hurt you its way to bumpy

then they both say we are never getting in that.

half hour later shaun will you take to bingo for 10 lmfao

Mum hates the colour, my sister thinks its a joke, my brother has owned 5 golfs (3 GTI's) so he's a bit biased, Dad's ex VW so thinks its wonderful and especially enjoys driving it to within an inch of its life..

My girlfriend says it looks like a tiny hearse...

Its coz of my dad I'm into cars and bikes!

When he was younger he put a jag engine in an old wolseley which was classed as a granny wagon and made his own banded steelies!

Now hes got another 70's wolseley, a 1948 jag and an audi 80 v6 quattro avant..... AND 4 motor bikes which 2 of were built and kept in our house.. had their own room... but has had a b3 passat (best car imo)

My mum started off with an mg midget, then a wolseley hornet (now mine), an early mk1 cabby, a late mk1 cabby and now a pearl pink audi 80 convertable....

She used to let my dad do what ever to her cars but wont let him change the wheels or anything on the audi now.... but she does think my car looks the nuts on the road.... her words! Hahaha

My rents are pretty damn cool with my clag everywhere too... got a 1978 vespa in the summer house and the hornet sat on the drive on blocks until it goes in for resto... plus all the dub bits clogging up my dads various garages and sheds....

You can tell why i haven't moved out yet :D

Ditto.... where the hell would I put 3 cars and a shed full of parts in a 1 bedroom flat lol

Any houses for sale? Seems like my sorta street!

x2 ;)

The latest comments from my mum are " If I see one more car part or patch of oil on the drive i'm getting your poxy cars collected by the council" or " you could get a sensible car". My dad though never learnt to drive so I completely ignore whatever he says about my cars :paranoid:

My mum disses it ina jokey way

my dad knows about cars, where i learnt it all, he was in the car when the sump/subframe hit the floor the other day, he was NOT Happy and the same with the stretch fits soon to be fitted as he works for avon tyres!

Can he get a bargain price on Avon 175/55/13's? :unibrow:
