it is a rally car that has been used so not the cleanest of cars but with a bit of tlc she will be my 2011 car so i can have time to finish the other one.

I managed to rebuild the car changing all the bits that were past ther best and get it out on the rally.

1st stage handeling was simply shit. suspension setup was out ended up with a wheel going off the road and getting a puncture and then the driveshaft gave up the ghost. so rally over but we could re enter the trophy rally. which is to fix the car and do the last to stages.

so a new driveshaft and change of tyres and tweek the suspension and we did the final two stages using them to set up the suspension and test the car.

here are a few pics.

they're not imports, all the challenge cars were LHD regardless, it's a case that VW racing built however many 6ns before the 6n2 came out and it was probably one of the last challenge cars to be sold, hence a later reg.

How are you getting on with the LHD hywel?

its strange but I'm getting there with it.

Cool, like to see things like this. You still carrying on with the 6N2 aswell?

  • Author

yes still carrying on with the 6n2. for next year. will either sell this on or my dad may use it and we will enter as a team.

Was a shame not to see you do the whole event, was out spectating with the Swansea Met guys and giving you encouragement all day!

Looks like it could be a good car with a bit of development

Sion

Shame i couldn't make it. would have loved to see it in action.

Cool Number 8-)

I'm starting the preperaition on the car to do the next rally on the famous Epynt ranges which is on the 5th of june. list of things to be done:

new top mounts

new wheel bearings

fit 13 inch wheels

Replace blown rear shock

repair steering colum

fit newman reground cams

4 wheel align and set camber.

fit 4 branch

All ready done. new sump gard and quick shift fitted.

Sweet.. Very nice 6n mate... The bodywork isn't in great shape, but i'm sure that you can sort it...

Where did you find the short shift?

Will 13 inch wheels fit?

They don't on standard 6n valvers, i would have thought this would have bigger brakes if anything? :?

  • Author

normal 13 inch wheels wont fit but the revoulution rfx nova group A rally wheels do fit which are 13inch. i had the short shift off here a couple of weeks back. ye after the rally the car is going to be sanded back body work sorted and resprayed in Volkswagen Rallye Yellow.
