A taxi driver went into the side of me at a three-way roundabout, got the police involved as the arrogant idiot wouldnt give me his details.

My car is totally fine the scratches just rubbed off and his car was totally fine. We've got each others details

Now i want to know if i dont claim (which I'm not intending to as my car is fine) and the taxi driver does claim

what would happen?

Update: Went and checked to see if there was any damage in the light, on the drivers side door under the bumpstrip thingys its all dented in.

Do i ring my insurance company up and claim that it was his fault? will it effect my insurance cost?

Even if you don't make a claim, you'll still need to report the accident to your insurers within the specified time (usually 24 hours) of the accident.

As for the claim, you'll need to ring your insurers and ask for their advice.

Update:

I made a claim against him, and my insurance is sorting it out. Had about 50 million phone calls regarding the accident ect ect. But today i had a call to say that the other party isnt accepting liability and it will go through the solicitors.

Has anyone had an experience like this? Just really know whats going to happen next, will my insurance be affected?

roundabouts are a scetchy area for insurers.

If these isnt much evidence to point the finger, usualy it will end up being 50/50.
