right guys and girls finally decided to start a build thread, recently bought a 98 6n polo in storm grey i think it is, previous owner i think parked it into the back of a truck so it then needed, a bonnet, bumper, grill surround and grill, so in my dinner breaks at work I've been finding the time to do bits as and when i can, here are a few pics of how it is atm constructive criticism only thanks

this is how i bought the car, fitted the bonnet grille surround and bought the badgless grill

de wipered the rear window and de-badged the rear, and smoked the rear lights ( i know i need some pressed plates )

bought the 2.0 8v engine, loom, ecu and ancillaries, i need a gearbox for it tho so thts not going in just yet,

then on 1 of my dinner breaks i decided to pull my roof lining and door pillars off to retrim them, the initial idea was a black alcantera style fabric but when i went to buy it i bought 1 sqr mtr of tthe black fabrick to test it, managed to do all my pillars in it, WINNER !! went to buy some more this morning and decided on a camo finish instead of the black ... hehehe

ok i put the headlining and the pillar covers i managed to wrap back in the polo today, i ran out of glue after doing the roof , imo it looks sweet, sorry about the poor pics guys iphones are shit camera's

i also painted these its not the right way to do it i know but its temp

how hard/easy was it to take off the roof and pillars?

and how did you do it?

taking the lining off was the easy bit just remove seatbelts, a pillar and b pillar covers ( just push fit ) and rear covers and seatbelts and the lining drops down, as easy as that, oh yea mind the interior light wire i nearly forgot and broke mine, then bought the material for £3.89 and 3 tubs of copidex glue, and common sense did the rest, it is hard to not get any creases in the material but thats a learning curve

i think its now time for some coilovers and wheels,

I'm also considering the carbon wrapped bonnet and roof ( matt carbon ) i think it would go well with it being a grey car .... not 100% sure tho haha
