165/60/R14

Featured Replies

I'm lowering my car soon and have picked up some 14" vw castellets to go on...currently they're running 165/55/R14 however they need 2 new tyres.

However, i don't know whether to get 165/60/R14 instead? Never bought tyres before and don't really know much what to look for etc and whether 165/60 will fit the wheels better than 165/55 (tiny bit of stretch)

Could anyone reccommend tyre sizes that would be best? total newbie when it comes to tyres heh.

Cheers :-)

Don't know your "homerules" but regular tires nowadays are defined as 165mm of width, 55% of the widht is the height, and the rim-diameter to fit them on. Also you have the loadindex (two digits) often stated in the car's papers, and a speedindex (letter), i.e. 75T.

For nice dimension, google it or see tyrestretch.com etc.
