BMW E36 318IS Coupe M44.. SOLD

Featured Replies

I recently got this car as a second car for my partner but she really doesn't like it so it has to go!

I have been using it alot and have done hundreds and hundreds of miles in it this week and it has been perfect

Bmw E36 318is Coupe 1996 on a 'P' plate.

This is the M44 1.9 16v 140bhp model.

it has a months tax and 2 months MOT but if I still have the car then I will retax and MOT it but price my change by the cost of the tax.

To be honest I hardly have any service history, all I have is a few old MOTs, all clean , a fail from last year (failed on wrong colour bulbs) and then passed the next time.

I also have a bill for around £900 worth of engine work when the head gasket went. All skimmed and sorted and new radiator and thermostat and other bits.

It has a sport exhaust which sounds really nice, very quiet when just cruising round but has a nice roar in the higher revs. It is still quiet on motorways at around 70-80mph.

The car is hell rot red and paintwork is very good with no rusty arches. small rust patch on boot and one 50p sized dent on front wing which has caused a bit of rust and slight bend in the wing. A bend which had the guy I bought it off not mentioned it I probably wouldn't have noticed on first glance.

Right the good bits:

Alot of recent engine work so car is good for a while in that department!

Surprisingly good fuel economy! (far better than my 316)

Good Paintwork

Good condition e46 alloys with good tyres

All electrics work; mirrors, windows lights and any other electric things

Good Heater

Very good engine which pulls as it should, very smooth to rev.

Good gearbox

Very fun to drive and fairly quick!

New exhaust which sounds very nice and not too loud.

And the bad bits ( being brutally honest as not to annoy anyone.

Only has one key and has no remote central locking just standard central locking.

Main horn on wheel is disconnected and has been replaced with a small button by the cigarette lighter which works( still MOTable)

the engine is very tappy! but has been like this for a long time and the car still drives perfect and has travelled thousands of miles like this and has never let me down ( a cheap fix for the mechanically minded apparently)

The drivers door required a nudge to open after unlock. I normally unlock it,press my hand on the lock it and it opens so not really a problem at all (at least you dont have to use the passenger door!)

minimal service history

Fairly sure that is everything, I really have been as honest as possible but happy to answer any questions.

I actually really love this car and its great fun and is good on fuel. It has never failed to start even after its been standing for a while and its never let me down. I am quiet a fan of e36's so will be sad to see it go but I need something that my other half will drive as she needs a car for work!

So this is mainly up for P/X for something of similar condition that my partner will want to drive but nothing to girly so that I can drive it if I have to. It also must be reliable like this is as she travels along way for work.

If no p/x I will put a cash price up of £700 but am open to offers with cash either way

Feel free to text me on 0794766037, or drop me a message on here and I will be happy to answer any questions
