Hey there, last night a mate of mine clipped my Mk3 whilst pulling out of a car park, its left a tennis ball sized 'dent' in my bumper.

I've just taken the bumper off, need to know whats the best way of removing this dent without cracking the plastic? I was thinking to just put it in a warm bath and then try pushing the dent out?

Unfortunatley unlike bumpers on new cars that can be remolded. Old mk3 bumpers tend to still show sign's of any damage that youve removed.

For sake of a tenner though you could get yourself a new one

Ok then thanks for the advice :) I'm pretty sure my dads got a heat gun somewhere.

Yeah the damage isnt too bad though, and it was in alrite condition beforehand, so Imay as well try repairing it, save the effort of looking for a new one!

Couldnt find a heat gun, just tried in a hot bath and it worked fine, not even any stress marks left :)

I had both bumpers,all four arch trims and both sill trims in the bath once. But then i had wheels in the bedroom,engines on the stairs..

I still build engines in the living room,i might actually have the most understanding mrs on the planet..?
