My New Hack!

Featured Replies

Having just bought a house, I'm needing to save some pennies. So I'm back a little 1.0 for the daily hack.

I bought this last November as a "none runner" and well, lets just say, its cost more to get it on the road then i payed for it in the first place! lol.

Perfect for me though as I'm taking my Corrado off the road now to get it ready for summer show season! Plus i was missing Polo driving, as in the last six months I've changed dailys 6 TIMES! and sold off nearly all of my car collection. 6 months ago i had 7 VW's with my name on! I'm not down to 3, only one of which is a polo! And here she is......

MK2 Bready

1.0 4 speed with manual choke.

0-60 3.2 seconds and a top speed limited to 180mph.. (can reach 185 if i take the back bench out)

NEW PARTS I've JUST DONE

New spark plugs

New HT leads

New Dizzy cap and rotor arm

New coil

Oil and filter change

New exhaust (from the middle back)

Replacement petrol tank

Pirelli P-Slots, fully refurbed and painted candy red, which I've wrapped in Yoko a539's

Lowering kit 90/80

Uprated headlight bulbs

New brake hoses

new front pads

pool ball gear knob

AND A DAM GOOD CLEAN!

EDIT: NOW MORE NEW PARTS!

Cam belt

Water pump

Head skimmed and re-set

head gasket and all other gaskets replaced. Ie Inlet manifold and exhaught manifold and rocker cover gasket.

Just bought a new grill. painting it black and gonna give it the "s" red strip

New clocks gone in :) (old ones petrol gauge didnt work)

New door cards (old ones were damaged)

Dam good clean under the bonnet!

Plans:

Smooth the tail gate

Smaller steering wheel

ICE: I'm gonna have a %100 hidden install. Head unit in the glove box and speakers under the original grills (IE 2 in the back and 1 in the centre of the dash)

Maybe some new seats, i realy like the old skool ones in there but the drivers side bolster is going a bit.

Tint the rear lights all Red.

Paint the scrachs on the rear quater.

Hope you like.. Let me know what u think.. this aint no serious motor, just a fun hack to keep the polo part of me alive! as I'm 26 now and always had polos... but this one, it would seem, shall be my last. and i intend to enjoy it! :)

Cheers man! yea its the same rims off of that!

Did think about a red roof on this too! but with it being gloss black, and not satin like the mk3, i thought id leave it be! plus its easier to change my mind.

I might do red mirriors tho, just for a try, as i have a spare set in my shed

Was?

I know mate! ... had to be done I'm afriad! 90/80 was to much for lincolnshire back roads on a daily run!

Gonna sort her out with a sort of semi like 60/60 or something soon!

Still look good man.

Love the audi multispokes.

Ahh well that will be okay then, and the P sluts?

think I'm gonna whack them on my caddy once ie dropped that! :) they just didnt look right with low profile tyres but a standard ride height!

love the specs, looks clean and tidy man, nice

I actually prefer it standard height :? I feel all dizzy for saying that

are those wheels 13's? could look cool with some 14s filling the arches up a bit more.

as for going to 60/60, mines 60/40 and theres one or two places locally that are no go areas and anything remotely offroad (live close to countryside) makes my face tense whilst driving. I know I'm relatively high compared to some on here but it's just passable as a daily and not worth going any lower. I'd even say I'd go 40/40 to save my undercarriage

thats what I'm thinking mate! Just wanna get that front down a bit as i can get a fist in there atm!

They are 14's mate, thinking of rocking 15's with no low-lows just for the hell of it! Got some 15" BBS's sitting in my shed

I like that alot! :)

On a trip down to Essex last night, she decided to give up on me! AA towed me home. Turns out head gasket has gone! Not to worry, a whole list of even more new parts have been ordered! including new cam belt and water pump while I'm at it! (why not) and the head is off to be skimmed!

Fun weekend ahead! but she will be better then ever once I'm done with her! .. spent a couple of hours cleaning under the bonnet today too, while the head was out and out of the way. made it realy easy to get to! and i hae painted the rocker cover, cam cover, fan cover and manifold! Pics once its all back together! Not long before the only original bit of the car is the shell! lol

:)

Loving the numberplate! The car really suits black well, it looks smart.
