Hi everyone,

I took off the bottom of my dashboard to have access to the fuse and relay boxes but I can't find where is the 75x terminal (here is how it looks on a Golf mk4). What I can see is 3 terminals (similar to those in the picture) at the left of the relay support (maybe at the right for right hand drive Polos) so close to the body that I can't see if there is a "75x" or something else written even if I use a small mirror ...

All I can tell you is that there are 1 wire connected to the 1st terminal (the closest to the front of the car), another connected to the 2nd terminal and 2 wires connected to the last terminal (the closest to the rear of the car) ; the 4 wires are red and have the same quite large sections.

Can the 75x terminal be one of these three ?

I am also looking for a ground terminal below the dashboard, does someone know where to find one ?

What is a 75x terminal?

I think what you're seeing in your case at the right of the relays is the permanent live feed, it just a bus-bar that the electrics feed from.

I never found the ground terminal, all the ground wires disappear under the carpet at the side of the centre console, without taking the seat out I couldn't get the carpet back far enough to find the connecting point. I used a convenient bolt on the dash fixing bracket for a ground.

What is a 75x terminal?

This terminal is connected to the X-contact (aka Load Reduction) relay that prevents the power to be delivered at the components connected to it when the key is in the start position, I think !

I thought it maybe was with the 'x' part but just wanted to check. I haven't seen a specific connector like the one in your photo, I'll have a look on the diagrams I have to see what runs off the relay and where you could connect.

If this can help you, I'm trying to connect a wiring loom for heated seats.

I have also all wiring diagrams (Elsawin) but I searched through all the sections without finding anything about that ...

I will first pass the wiring loom through the dashboard and get back the seats into the cars in order to reconnect the battery without having faulty airbag lights. Then I will measure these 3 terminals while starting the car to see what happens.

I've added a couple of extra bits like electric central locking and a few other electrical bits. For those circuits that need switching with the ignition I've added a separate relay and fuse with the main current source from the bus-bar near the relay board and the coil switched from the ignition. On the ignition there's a choice of on with the key in, on in the run position or on in run and start positions - take your pick! If you use a relay for each seat and connected the switches for each in series with the feed from the ignition, you'd have a neat solution.

The three terminals on the bus-bar are all connected together and then to the battery via a fusible link on top of the battery.

The diagrams I have show a black/yellow wire from the system X relay which goes to various fuses on the fuse block inside the car. I would suggest the wire is fairly substantial, so should be relatively easy to find. There no indication of a terminal on any of the diagrams.
