1994 mk4 key ?

Featured Replies

I lost a key , and want to know if I need a copy and clone of the remaining key , because from my search done on this forum I've noticed that only later models of 6n polo have a key chip .

Can someone support this ?

Thanks

bump !

anyone ?

I thought that all 6Ns had immobilisers, if this is true, then the keys will all have a chip fitted.

regards.

my '96 6n doesn't have a chip in the key, opened the fob and its just the stuff for the LED in there..

so I should open up the key to check for any microchips ? right ?:)

You could try, its not hard to open it and it clips shut again..

But yours being a '94 and mines a '96/97. My guess is that it won't have :)

so basically what you guys are saying is that every golf has a chip

that doesn't sound to awesome to me :(

Anyone got tips on getting the transponder out.

Mine is glued in. I'm at work at the moment and don't fancy breaking it before i go home.

Can i buy another transponder and use a vagcom cable to reprogram the car? I can't find anyone that sells these at all.

Actually. Is the transponder in the Vw polo 6n just a ID 44 Philips Crypto chip. So i should be able to use the vag-com to retrieve the code and have blank chips programmed, right?
