DOES THAT MEAN IF YOU BOUGHT THIS CAR YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A LOGBOOK ON APPLICATION FROM THE DVLA

I have access to HPi Checks, goes through the Police, National insurance database ect ect.

it's the same as what Dealers using when P/X a car

folks be careful if you are intending to purchase this vehicle SILVER MK2 COUPE REG D365 POM CURRENTLY LISTED ON EBAY ITEM NUMBER 230584053204

the seller is not the registered keeper nor is the person who he says has permission to sell if you buy this car because it was exported in 1999 (thanks daniel watts for the heads up)

this now means to register the vehicle you will need the following

1. a letter and all the export documents from the registered keeper at an address where he can be contacted

2. be able to pay the import fees and duties to re register the vehicle in the u.k

3. go through all the red tape which will include paying for and having the vehicle inspected checked at a ministry of transport testing staion where they will check vin plates engine numbers etc

4. pay for a new v5c to be issued providing you have everything else

the seller does not have any relevant p. work for the vehicle and does,nt seem to be able to provide it for some reason

i have reported it to ebay dan i think this stinks i have questioned the guy very thouroughly and he,s got no answers he,s trying to say you can just fill in a form and send of for a replacement log book my mate bought a splitty 3 yrs ago like this and the geezers fucked off and now he cant register it having spent nearly 2k with inspections duties etc etc aand its just sitting there on his drive an i tell you want that guys put easily 600 hours in that van so far the engine is now schweet he,s only just started on on the paintwork having don all the welding and he aint touched the inside mind its beautifully patina,d such a shame but it twats like this that ruin it for everyone I've told him that car is only good for breaking and what a nice lil polo as well that wopuld,nt take much to restore I THINK WE SHOULD KEEP THIS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE 1 DAN FOR A WHILE AT LEAST TILL THE AUCTIONS FINISHED OR DELETED SO AS TO STOP ANY UNSUSPECTING YOUNGSTER FALLING FOR HIS BULLSHIT WHAT DO YOU THINK

jay not a ringer matey just the red tape and the reqiurements for re importing it cannot be met because the owner was a lodger of the person whos garage its in but all the paperwork has gone adrift without that and contact address with the reg keeper they wont re register it so really its only good for spares unless you can find the reg keeper and get the relevant p.work to re import and then its proper hassle with the red tape and its expensive such a shame as if it was legit thatr would make someone or even a collector a very nice car

Yep, its probably been stolen back to settle debts off or like. As said though, without the current owners contact details or paperwork; to the DVLA its just a stolen imported vehicle which they won't touch.

withoutthe relevant docs and confirmation address of the reg keeper you cannot import this vehicle it is still listed as registered I've just spoken to the guy he,s being alright about it and says he,s thinking of taking it off and try to contact the reg keeper plus he says the keeper moved abroad and left it in a womans garage as he was a tennat of hers and the seller is saying she has been given verbal permission to sell and here,s the best bits the window got smashed by kids who broke in and tried too steal it and he does house clearance for the woman whos garage its in hmmmmmmm and also look at his feedback and account name richard wright i reckon his real name is .............. WRONG...........un

update lads seller states now that the person deemed to be looking after the owners interests is in fact away in oz till march so he may have to break it for spares i,d give my right arm he,s nicked that car
