why do you all care so much? he clearly states that the car has been deported, no hiding it so its up to the buyer what they want to do with it

Well it started out as a suspicion that it was stolen, but now yea it can look legit that he's selling things on eBay that was found in a clearance he and his company were doing... (if it was that)

The local police have already been to the garage it stored at and re-secured it with the council. With all the latest info that's been found out and being passed onto the police, Its now up to them to decide whether what he is doing is legal or not.

If he has permission to sell the car on behalf of the owner, or the owner has said that he can have the car and now he's selling it because its useless without paying to get it registered in the UK again, Then the police could find that out and then there be nothing to worry about... However if he doesn't have the owners permission to sell then it can be classed theft / attempt to sell stolen goods, yeah?

My guess is exactly that, He's either found it while doing a clearance and decided to try and sell it.. or he's randomly found it in a garage and is trying to sell it.. either way its classed as selling stolen goods?

If he's anything like the pikey scrap metal collectors who cruise round my local streets then he's probably spotted it in the garage and whacked it on the truck. Having said that they

usually weigh all the metal in so dont know why he's trying to sell it. Or maybe the chap who owns the car and is in another country hasn't been paying his garage storage bills and this dodgy guy is selling the car to recoup the money. Don't know if that's legal or not but I know of people doing that before.

Yep. I know some one who does the same thing, all above board. He gets cars from garages that then rent hasn't been paid on and the council either can't find the owner or the owner denies any knowledge of the car to save having to pay the outstanding rent. For all any one knows he may of taken this legally, it seems strange that the police and local council would act so quickly over some thing like this and be so open about what is going on. Not casting any aspersions here but poor English doesn't automatically equate to a crook.

Think about it this way, if he was as dodge as people are saying then why would he openly try and sell a stolen car on a public site like eBay using his own name and links to his company, when he could just weigh it in make a quick risk free profit? Wasn't the starting bid like 99p or some thing? It's only since you lot started messaging him that he thought it was worth any thing

I see the guys in their transits going round my street every so often, the c***s took our old cooker even AFTER I told then they couldn't have it!

They chapped my door asking if they could take it, I said no then 2-3 days later I happen to look out and it was gone. Knew exactly where it went

I was taking it to the scrap man myself when I was taking my polo (poor car :() shell and among all the other scrap metal around my garden and drinks/food cans

But yeh we'll see what the police have to say about it, If they update pohlohmadness on the situation :)

I never said that, I do scrap myself. Not on the scale they do but I still do it. I get about 4-6k per year from what I do, not much but it helps

But when someone can't speak an English sentence and tries to sell what they salvage on eBay when they would get less hassle and probably more cash by taking it to the scrappy.. Just seems a little odd to me

Why don't you try and find the thread on here that the car was posted in? It might give you more of an idea what is going on with it. It was in this section iirc and was about 2-3 months back. I'm sure he mentioned that he was thinking of keeping it as a project, why would he be thinking about keeping a stolen car as a project?

After reading and then discovering he has a clearence company (or works for) I reckon its innocent.

Maybe hes hesitating on the address as he cant give you the address to a garage can he really? but its not at his yard yet either...

i got out of him post code b31 not a full post code tho even tho I've allready got his adress with out him nowing as u can do anythin on the internet these days and a phone number to he also told me hes been offerd over a 1200 for it ...... along with 600 and 800 wich is pure bull shit beacuse he would of snaped ther fuckin hand off for it as he clearys dosnt no much about them he could be genuine or he could not be ethier way it all looks dogy :-)

ebay have recieved reports about the item one important thing here lads the police are waiting to proove he has committed a crime at the mo they have found the car in the garage where it belongs they called the council and the council have now resecured the garage from what they are telling me they have no proof he has broken in or vandalised the car although they suggest that that has happened but what they are saying is if he sells the car then they have got him because that is fraud plus i assume he,ll get donefor burglary vandalism and twoc also if you buy the car they have got you as well for handling stolen property and conspiring to commit fraud

btw i have informed birmingham cid they have confirmed that they have checked out the clearance place as well which would also appear to be not to legit as well mmmmmmmmmmm me thinks they might be deporting some one i think loads of peeps should put in bids get it up to about 2k then retract them about an hour before the end that would really do is ed in

nah guy he changed it about threetimes also he has,nt got any paperwork that says he,s entitled to move it and they council have confirmed to the police that the owner moved abroad permanantly in 2006 but still rent the garage from them thats why the police asked them to re secure the garage they are now waiting for him to sell it then he,s commited fraud

because you have handled stolen property if you hav,nt got any relevant paperwork he,s not the owner its not his to sell and he has,nt got a trustee letter from the register keeper asking him to sell it
