ok am happy if you all are happy chris as i had a call off polomadness this morning explaining the best way around this polo. I just did not wont to brake it and thought poeple will take it as it is (shame to brake it) so am going to sort the paper work and proof were i got my hands on it. easy can prove were i got it. just may be hard to sort other documentation like v5 and xports papers. so if it comes to it are have to brake it for all polo lovers for parts. i do have all the emails that was sent to me

after many many questions finally got a number

traced that to a clearance business

and so on haha.....

Although in CSI aren't the suspects always guilty and get sent away?

no worries mate, like i've said throughout this thread my mums chap does clearance for the council on unpaid garages so i was just saying that it's very possible you got this through legal means. branding some one a thief is pretty harsh especially when there was no hard fact to back this up and it made sense to me that if you had a clearance company that you would from time to time get cars in like this. i'm not saying it didn't sound dodgy to start with but as more details came out it seemed less and less likely to me that the car was stolen

the ironic thing is the lad that started this thread sent me a pm not long back congratulating me on a mk1 golf my mums chap had picked up in exactly the same way, where was the thread accusing me of theft? i feel left out

With the golf they actually found the bloke the garage was registered to but when they confronted him about the car in the garage he hadn't rent on for 3 years he denied all knowledge of the car and the garage so he didn't have to pay the back rent lol

guy i dont wish to nitpick about this read my posts on this thread the guy has no paperwork assetaining to that car at least thats what he has told me all he said to me was he has met the owner once before in his life and the guy gave verbal consent to sell the car apparently it has been entrusted to the owners carer who he also cannot contact as she,s out of the country and he,s not even sure if she can make contact also this car is registered as exported its a totally different situation buddy and throws a different light on the subject no one is saying he has stolen it but for all intent of purpose that is a possiblilty as all he can tell us is just hearsay as far as dvla are concerned you will not be able to register this car in the u.k again until he recieves written consent from the owner / the carer and she will have to have written consent from the owner / or the council order it to be removed in which case he will have aremoval or disposal notice in this case it will be a disposal notice as the car cannot be re registered then he is entitled too sell and at that if it is a removal situation then there is a lot of red tape and expense on the buyers behalf to re register this car its not just a case of 25 qiud and a form to be filled out the car would have to under go a full inspectorate examination before it can ecven be consider then theres the re registration fees then an mot then confirmation from the registered keeper that he has sold the car or that he has entrusted it to be sold by some one in this case richard so really all this car is good for is breaking in all honesty and once again at that the engine and all stamped parts would not be sellable ancilleries and parts such as head etc can be sold but block and chassis etc would have to be scrapped I'm afraid unless of course someone was doing something illegal I've not said richard has stolen it in any of my correspondence in fact in one email on ebayhe suggested to me that it was,nt stolen and i replied that i didnt say it was it,s just simply a really unfortunate situation where a really nice polo will go to waste unless he can get paperwork tbh he has,nt even said thanks or anything to me for all the info i gave him and for taking the time to try and help him by explaining everything to him personnally i dont think i,ll bother in future and then let some innocent youngster think he,s got a cheap car only to find he,ll have to break it

Polhohmadness, if you read the post you quoted me on I accepted it would be difficult to put back on the road. What I was saying was you don't need a log book to buy or keep a car a receipt (sp) would be fine. if you wanted to put it back on the road then yes you would need a log book but not if you were using it for parts or any thing else that it didn't need to be road legal to do (some for of motor sport for example). And you could use any part of this car other than the shell, even the engine. I have an engine in my jetta that I have no paper work for and can't get any, but if i wanted to register it to the car it would just mean taking it for a vic check where they would check that the car in't stolen ect. Although if you were swapping it in to a car that had the same engine in it in the first place I wouldn't even bother registering it tbh.

ok the car was for my daughter as she was with me on the day of removal of the car. and she fell in love with it so i said she can have it. (she as no licence) so we have had this car for a while now and its a shame because it on a drive and its just sittin there as shes as not got a licence. so i said to my daughter the time u get your licence the car might need more work on it as like i said its sittin on a drive and i have no garege to put it in and its a sheme as the car is a collitable to vw

and eny money you get off the car will go to wards yr licence. (my take time to get a licence as she can not drive so we are talkin at least 20/40 hours driving lessons to put my daughter on the road. and shes only 17 at mo. she not happy givin the car up as its her baby she said but only time will tell. so when i puttin on ebay hopein some one will take the car on, but it never went simple as that thanx to instigator. but never mind now so now u all no where the money is going wen car is sold or broke up (shame tho) ok polo lover speak soon :-)
