Right, already pretty underway on this one, it's taking me a while tho!

Plans are to make it as close to my dream mk2, without spending silly amounts of money on it! Low, smooth, shiney with a bit of go in her is my aim! It's my 1st major project I'm taking up too, hence part of the reason it's taking so long!

Had her on the road for a year - this is how she started:

After a bit of polishing and changing stuff over, this was the end result:

And then this happened....

So August 2009 off the road she came.....

Unfortunately, she came off the road with some proper chavvy wheels due to my brother borrowing mine for his rover....

Few hours went to this:

Over the next couple of weeks (and months...), I started pulling apart the interior, and attacking the floorpans

And with the engine on it's way out, started de-crapping the engine bay too!

And Wheel tubs....

As much as it looks like there's not much going on, I've got millions of photos, I'm just trying to cut the long story short!

This is how she's standing at the moment - Engine bay with some shaving of un-needed bits and pieces, primered up and ready to rock!

Looking a bit of a state from pretty much all other angles!!!

I'm getting somewhere, but progress is slow, especially as the head gasket has just gone on my new daily!! bad times! I'll update as I go along from here on in :)

what colour you going for? same as before or totally different?

What engine is going back in?

Colour, I'm undecided - I'm thinking it may stay tornado red, but as it's pretty much a gutted shell, That may change!!

Engine, again a little undecided - been toying with the idea of an ABF (2.0 16v) conversion, but chances are it may stay a 1.8 carb with a rebuild and a few tweeks, as it wasn't exactly slow when it came off the road!!

Wheels that are going on - after many many hours of work!

Back end re-worked, and factory sealant taken off for a bit more of a smooth look:

Unfortunately after digging through some old filler on the rear quarter, I've found some pretty serious dentage - gonna see if it'll pull out a bit as it was a fair few mm thick with filler!!

And the crossmember and slam panel all re-furbed and looking fresh as!!

Pretty much all for now, as I'm dealing with my daily driver being written off at the moment too!! :(
