Unfortunately, after just 650 miles, It's broken :-( dropped all it's oil and coolant, and all it's oil has ended up over the back of the car instead of staying in the engine....sooooo, head gasket, water pump, and thermostat (as that needed doing anyway) have been purchased, my brothers making a start on it while i'm in work tomorrow, and hopefully all will be fixed by the end of the weekend!!

Head gasket was well and truly deaded, and there was no thermostat in it, I'm glad I picked one of those up at the same time!

Crank shaft oil seal has gone too, so gonna have to wait till Monday to pick one of those up :(

It's a good thing it's so pretty, otherwise i'd be getting rid of this as soon as it's fixed!! Just a bit gutted as I havn't even had it for 2 weeks yet :?

Thats all for now, new head gasket is going on tomorrow, build it up and keep fingers crossed theres no more damage!!!

Head gasket done, ran her up to temp which revealed the oil pressure sensor was p*ssing out oil, so new one of those. Went to do the crank oil seal, which revealed a crack in the housing, and a chuck fell out of it, so a new one of those too. These problems along with an exhaust stud snapping in the head and it now sounding like a tractor until I can get round to sorting that are starting to give me a major headache!!!

So, quest for a reliable daily has so far cost:

Head gasket set, thermostat, oil and antifreeze: £100

Crank oil seal: £4

Oil pressure sensor: £7

Crank oil seal housing/oil pump: £112

The bill just keeps getting bigger, and so far nearly a month in I've only driven it for 12 days!

well, it's been a while, and after the head gasket debacle all has been well...until a fateful journey to work last monday night...

Long story short, dull bint in a clio shot out of a junction without looking about 50 yards in front of me, my brakes locked up, and, well....

She's already admitted full liability to the accident, and it wasn't looking TOO bad, till I found a crease in the drivers side chassis leg :( It's being recovered tomorrow, but the insurance company have already said they're writing it off!! :(

So gutted!!!!

ah bryony that sucks big time :( you've had nothing but bad luck with this car, really sorry :(
