hi guys just a quick one i've got some 6n2 lowering springs and was wondering, if they would fit on 6n shocks, i no the 6n shocks differ from the 6n2 but i didnt know if the springs were different aswel? any help much appreciated :-D

My 6n is in question and it's a very late 1999 one. I know usually they would just not fit but i found this on the net:

And these are from a 1999 Polo 6n (Sorry enjibenji for stealing pictures from your ad :p):

The springs look very much the same (and for that matter the shocks don't look that much different either). I know I was buying something ages ago for my car and normal 1997 or 1998 stuff wouldn't fit, it had to be parts from 1999 model.

I'm amazed that noone knows this. I have done my research and even on this forum the answer was 50% yes and 50% no. I have now got a set of springs and shocks from a 6n2 and will attempt to fit them to my late 1999 6n next weekend. I'll share the outcome in case anyone else is wondering.

yes the dampers will fit, but they dont use the same top mounts on a 6n and 6n2, the 6n2 has a axial bearing on the top, but the 6n tops should fit them..

the front springs have a different size top coil that goes into the upper spring plate, so they probably wont fit

I'm not sure if I understand correctly. Do I need to buy 2 front top mounts and axial bearings for 6n2? Or just the bearings and try to sit them on 6n top mounts?

And if the coil doesn't fit the spring plate does this mean that they won't fit at all or there's a room for an easy mod?

Also I gather that the rears will fit with no problems at all?
