Found a set of phaeton wheels on german ebay today and absolutely fell in love!! not sure how to fit them to my 6N2 though, i think the best option is to redrill my hubs to 5x100 then buy 5x100 to 5x112 adapters as i know they dont sell 4x100 to 5x112 adapters as it overlaps just wondered if anybody could give me some advice:) and would they fit under my arches considering I'm going to be running JOM coilovers in the summer which i believe are 75mm at the back and 90mm at the front.

oh and wheel specs are 7.5Jx16 ET 41 for all 4. Thanks :)

Nice wheels. Seems a shame to have such nice rims and gash coillies!! Would really depend on you tyre choice and how low you wind the coil overs down. That's not a ridiculous size of wheel, so if you can get adaptors sorted I'm sure you could make them fit

whats wrong with JOM coilies??!! everybody says there shite, but i dont see the point spending silly money for coilovers for a 1.0, I'm just doing it for style not performance. thanks for the help though :) do u know anybody thats redrilled there hubs?

these look awesome mate. definitely will be worth the effort once they are all fitted :)

and +1 for budget coilies. I've lowered my 1.0 on technix ones and it's fine. Nice and low, and ride isn't bad either.

Any budget sus is a horrble ride. Dont get me wrong. I have used them. But they broke, so I'm back on standard ride now, and its lovely

you'd be better off swapping out the centre 4 stud hub for the one from a b5 passat (5 x112), but this would almost certainly ruin the bearing pressing the old hub out..

on the rear you could swap to 5 stud brake drums too...

re-drilling the hubs is utterly silly idea imho

I`ve got a set of these wheels but they are not polished. I bought them for £280 brand new without tyres. I had them on my Passat Estate for about six months. They`ve been in my Dad`s garage for the last 18 mths as their too rare to sell and I plan to buy either an A4 or Passat again one day.

I`ve only ever seen them for sale in the UK once and on German Ebay once. Did think about fitting them to the Polo did`nt bother because of the hassle. The mk5 in the photo is saaaaaaweeeeeeeeeeeeet!

I don't like 6n2's really, but that is one tasty ho!

mate u cant redrill hubs, the wheel wont run right, as it has to be dead on centre 100% u have to get hub adaptors, which r mega money for this size,

i wanted to fit merc rims to my 9n3 5x100 to 5x112 got quoted 300 quids for the adaptors!!!!

Your easiest plan would be to get a set of 4x100 - 5x112 adaptors knocked up. Possible, easily done but it's not a cheap option. They never rock up second hand and the one set I've seen, well, it only had four studs in the wheels as one of them just wouldn't line up as that's the one where it came too close.

Second, more technical and cheaper option would be to simply get the hubs skimmed out a bit at a machine shop so they accept early mk3 VR6 hubs and bearings, change the outer cv's for Vr ones and use a 5x100 early VR 280 brake set up. You'll have 5x100 at the front with 280 discs. For the rears, just change the whole stub axle set up for a mk3 one and that'll be 5x100.

So, both front and back's are 5x100, using vag parts so reliability and safety isn't an issue, even got a cheeky brake upgrade in there too. Get a set of 5x100 - 5x112 adaptors and you can then slap phaeton wheels on easily without having to worry about it.

This is of course if you think phaeton wheels aren't going to look too big and it's going to end up like one of those silly american cars that just has massive wheels.

I have Audi wheels that are 5x112 and having my adapters custom made. As Rich said, the wheel will only hold on 4 out 5 bolts, but people have been driving like that and its fine. If you would like adapters to be made, pm me and we can sort something out.
