hi there i have a mk2 breadvan 1.3 carb i think 2g engine .it had a fuel like so i put a mini tank in till i can get a new one and it was fine a drive it over 250 miles like this but now it will not tick over but still run fine when i drive it any help would be gr8 thanks.

the car is fine when cold but when warm up it wont tick over

It sounds very much as if you have got a speck of dirt in the pilot (slow running) jet.

As this has only a very small orifice, it is easily blocked.

If you remove the jet, you should be able to blow through it with an adapter on your tyre pump, then if you hold it up to the light, you should be just about able to see daylight through it.
