Another Epic Royal Fail **

Featured Replies

So i saw a post on here not so long ago about how screwed up Royal Mail now is and I would just like to make you guys aware of some stupid shit that seems to be annoying a few people I know plus myself.

Chuffed to pieces when I found that CP user BrettGT had some wingmirrors to sell me, sent the money and he told me I should receive them in a few days time. A week later I still had received nothing. So i contacted Brett and he was damn sure that he sent them and so I let it go maybe thinking that the post was just a little slow.

Another week passed and they still hadnt arrived, this was now taking the piss!!

So i sent another text to Brett, getting quite shitty as I thought i'd bought into a wrong deal/theif (no disrespect Brett) who assured me that he did send them and I later asked for proof that he had sent them.

Anyway he went on a business trip to find some angry texts from me when he returned. He text me saying that he spoken to Royal Mail who said that someone had signed for them, really?!! Because it sure as hell wasn't me!

So this means that someone had signed for MY delivery, in MY name and had kept MY delivery without any due intent to send it to me!

Like seriously?! Surely this is theft!

It was only when Brett had rung them up and enquired about it that this guy sent me my package and it arrived within 2 days!

So I guess my point of this huge essay is that please be careful who you send your parcels with and try and keep in touch with the person who sent it you or the person you are sending it to because people these days are theiving little bastards!

Peace :)

OR people should spend a little bit more on postage and send it RECORDED and maybe even insure the package, if your that phsyced about getting what ever it Is your buying, I know i would if I'd been after said part for a long time.

At least then you've got records from the royal mail as to where your package is or should be.

It was sent recorded and they said they were me!!

royal mail service does seem to vary in quality. if i use the post office nearest me, the packages seem to take days longer than if i use a smaller post office which is on my way to work! One item i sent a few months back took 6 weeks to travel 40 miles down the road to its destination!

for anything much bigger than a letter , get on interparcel , paisley frieght etc

they will come to collect and charge way less than the posty for a way better service thats tracked/signed for

post office deserves to go down the pan

see thats all good if you dont work. trying to get couriers to collect at a specific time is in my experience pretty difficult. At least with the PO you can drop by on your way to work and post it, knowing it may or may not reach its destination

Cue a little advertising for a system my company have setup :D

DHL Sameday have a new website where you can book a job with them and tell them what time to pick the item up ect. I dont know if it would be too expensive for some jobs but worth a look if you are after sameday service.

Guy I work with used it and the courier arrive within the time range he asked for and item arrived in London at the time he asked for. Pretty good I would say.

Mods if I am not allowed to post this let me know.

Website is www.dhlsameday.co.uk

When I spoke to Brett about he said that it pretty much is fraud because the person who received it didnt even let me know, it had my address and full name on the parcel so it wouldnt have been that hard to contact me!

I think every now and again the PO drop delivery somewhere that they know and then sell on the item which as said before is complete and utter fraud!

Cheers for all the comments though, postal now a days clearly is just so shit!

Id rather drive to pick some things up myself. Treck and a half i understand but seriously at least Id get the bloody thing! Haha

:)

I would prefure to use DHL over Royal Mail any day. Use both at work and some of the RM employees who collect our stuff are sooo dim-witted it's unreal

We send out a fair few Special Deliveries for various departments, and a couple of times now, they haven't even collected the bloody thing! :disgust: where as DHL collect everything and it is delivered the next working day. Recently sent a Priority 12.00 delivery by DHL, got there at 10.47am! Service or what?! and it is cheaper than the same sort of thing from RM.
