Possibly a loose connection somewhere when you were removing the dash? Or perhaps you've popped a fuse or two?

Had a similar prob myself the other day, mine was working on the auto up and down,,i then had the dash section out below the wheel to check for the wires for an alarm.,that same night i went out and and it wasn't working,,i took the dash down again, proded a few wires, still nothing,,unscrewed the door harness and did the magic blow in the connections,,still nothing (thought that may have done it :-D )

then next day went out and was working,,weird,,also the driver side controls for the passenger windows did not work at all,now it puts the window up,but still not down.

All the window control loom is within the door, the car only provides power to the motor in the door, there is a link between the drivers door and the passenger for the controls.

Having the dash out may have caused the window to lose their "one-touch" function? Does the window go down on the first press of the switch, but when you press it down fully it stops?

If it continues, but doesn't auto go down, you need to retrain then.

Basically, hold the drivers switch down and let the window fully retract, and keep the switch held for 5 seconds (or until a faint click is heard). Lift the window back up, and keep the switch held, until another click is heard, or 5 seconds passes.

This should make the windows remember the one-touch setting. :) If the passenger doesn't work, it's probably a dodgy switch..

I don't have a schematic for the dimmer, but try another switch? An earth somewhere that's missing?

On ElsaWin it gives 2002 as 6n2 or 9n either way the layout is the same!

9n and 6n2 have different fuse layouts. 6n2 on drivers side in the cubby hole. 9n you have to open the drivers door and its on the dash side!
