mk3 golf vr6 3 door mint!

Featured Replies

Wanting to sell my pride and joy due to buying a much newer car need to get rid of golf to clear space on the drive.

The golf is a 1992 made in Wolfsburg factory VR6 in silver, don't see to many silver vr's.

The car has lots of new parts on it:

*New water pump

*New radiator

*Blue Silicone Hoses

*New water expansion bottle

*Twin Mushroom HKS style filters

The car has 96,000 miles on it or thereabout might be slightly over that.

It has 4-5 months MOT and no tax

The interior is flawless and mint especially for an 18 year old car.

The bad bits:

*Hit pot hole and has thrown the abs sensor out which has caused the light to come on (a lot of people would of removed the bulb, but i think better to be honest bout these things)

*The timing chains need changing at worst £200 through VW as gearbox has to come out.(this has only just started to rattle)

*Could do with 2 new front tyres.

I love this car and will be sad to see it go.

this car in mint condition on this mileage is easily worth £2000

however i am asking only £800, the car will drive away however i think you should trailer it.

this car is an ideal project car for someone to make mint! and being amoungst the first VR6 to be made will soon be considered a modern classic.

I have had lots of people advise me to put this car into storage and wait a few years as will then sell for ALOT more however space is an issue.

Bump!!!!

Mate, I was very interested in this but I'm very worried about the fact that you think it should be trailered home?! Besides, changing the chains is a big job, engine out I think. Would it not make it home if I bought it?

Basically I said that so that people would be more aware of the chains but I've been told because there chains and not belts they don't snap. It will b a gearbox out because there on that side mate. But yer u will Defo b able to drive it home. Where you from?

looks a good car, but the parts for the chains is £200 - its normally £1000 job at a vw specialist!

no way!!!

I've been quoted £400 all in from volkswagen to fit them so no way a friend has also had his done and cost £400. cheers

Guys.

Never heard of chains snapping on these.

They usually start getting noisy so if you can deal with it sounds like a bargain.

Add the tensioner and possibly a clutch (Whilst your there) and its the biggest job on a VR6.

Not a £200 issue.

That's already been done I have receipts to prove it so it would just b the chains.
