always wanted a corrado but just woundered if anybody on here had ever owned one.either a g60 or a vr6 what they like does loads go rong with them??

any probs and cons thing to look outfor when buying

VR6...Pros...the sound of that engine.

VR6...Cons...mine got 26mpg on a very good day,on a bad day as little as 10mpg.

Mechanically they're sound...ball joints was all i replaced on mine in the 2years i had it.

Oh and depending what age you are...insurance...it's a killer on the VR6 Rado mate.

Never had a G60 so i can't comment on them.

just think there proper good looking cars. and was wanting one for a while. what you mean inshurance is a killer like painfull prices??

both can be heafty to maintain, VR6 timing chains, if you get one that smokes. But that roar they have is addictive

G60 would be the only way i'd go. About same MPG tbh, not much. But they sound awesome, even better with the boost return delete. The charger obviously needs looking after. Serviced to keep it in tip top condition. Generally they run pretty well but a pain in the arse when they run crap. Small pulley and a 4 branch - exhaust will make it plenty fast enough for you to play around when needed.

How old are you? As said insurance on both is pretty steep if your young. Just prepair yourself for the amount of fuel you're going to end up putting in.

I've just bought a tidy 8v for £1000 and I think it's really good! Obviously no where near as fast as the daddies but it's still fun to drive.

I'm 20 got three years no claims and insurance for me was as near as makes no difference £700, hope it helps :)

hmmm i be honest I'm 18 nearlly 19. but i maby interested in a corrado 8v or 16v. be cheaper till i can get the real thing.

I wouldnt waste anytime on a 8v, worth feck all, slow and still pricey insurance compared to quicker cars.

VR6 noise is the don, fuel is raping, at 137p for V power round here i spank in £40-£50 to see up to 140 miles haha

G60 noise is sweet as well when you remove the hose from the airbox.

Haha, good luck getting insured on even an 8v Corrado at 18. I'm 19 and they want rediculous prices for any corrado, is spose it's cos its a coupe and seen as sporty.

ok a g60 is very quick when messed with, but I'm not sure id be able to look after it diy like i do my valver

Agreed! I've got a 1.8 Valver. and the insurance jumped up by about £60 when i changed it to my raddo from a 1.6 polo glx.

Same looks and handleing as a G. My MPG is about 32ish...

I dont kinda wish i had a G tho.....

You comparing a modified G60 to a standard VR6?

I have proved plenty of times against my bro if the road is big enough the VR6 is quicker. Totally different engines and gearing. 0-60 on the road isnt to different, the G cant hit 60mph in second but the VR can hit 75mph, so the G is into 3rd gear first but once the VR gets going in 3rd it will pull away.

the g60 in question does have a diesel gearbox, and yes is modded. So will hit 60 in second.

But still. I've seen even a standard one pull its weight.

my mate sold his standard g60 after i left him in my valver. mind you mine is quite highly strung and has nothing but two seats and a dash
