My boyfriends mk2 is for sale.

He has had it about 3 years, been a good little car. Quite straight and in the best colour in my opinion. Good engine, goes well. Here's the spec.

1991 Golf GTI 2.0 8v

Engine/Gearbox

• Rebuilt 2L block (from mk3 8v, about 10k since engine build)

• 276 Schrick profile cam

• Vernier pulley

• Mk2 8v head

• Mk3 rocker cover

• Chipped ECU

• Solid front engine mount (gives the car a bit of a rattle at idle but the bonuses far outweigh this)

• Good gearbox (no second gear crunch)

• New clutch about 7k ago

• Rebuilt gear linkage

• Power steering

Brakes/Suspension

• 16v 256mm front brakes/hubs (ready for G60 280mm)

• Mk4 rear callipers, goodridge conversion hoses

• Coilovers

• Seam welded polybushed wishbones

• Polybush rear beam

• Front and rear strut braces

Exterior

• Standard big bumper 90 spec

• 16v rear lights/smoked indicators (all genuine hella)

• Smoked crystal headlights

• Metal pressed number plates (legal font)

Interior

• Standard ultra violet 90 spec (very good)

• Mk3 steering wheel (quite worn)

• Immobiliser

• VDO gauges in carbon mount

• Working MFA

• New heater matrix

• Sony Xplod CD head unit

Wheels

• 15” BBS RA’s painted black (need repainting really) 195/50/15 TOYO T1-R (very good tread)

11 months MOT +every old mot

5 months tax

Some history, stamps up to 83k at VW dealer (obviously not associated to current engine)

2 sets of keys + 2 immob fobs.

Bad bits

• Drivers side rear quarter and door has some lacquer peel

• A few small parking dings and some stonechips to paint etc

• Wheels ideally need painting

• Small bubble under passenger rear window (about 1inch) and small rust chip on front wing (about 1inch)

• When starting in cold weather it sometimes turns over slowly (changed starter but still does it so not sure why) However it always starts and only does this when it has been sat overnight and its cold.
